Description: Malis is a landmark restaurant that has long enjoyed a reputation for pushing the boundaries of fusion food with traditional, original and new age Cambodian cuisine. With capacious seating and four VIP rooms set in a courtyard around a fountain, it is undeniably the capital's premier gourmet dining experience. Its busy kitchen is home to Luu Meng, Cambodia's only masterchef, whose artfully prepared dishes have graced tables around the world.

Malis is a beautiful restaurant serving modern Cambodian food. The service is as good as thier sister restaurant Topaz but the prices are cheaper.
We sat in the courtyard had a great night.

We had dinner here on a Saturday night. The restaurant is based on local ingredients done in a new and exciting way, and boy did they live up to our expectations. Half way through the meal I had run out of superlatives. From the soup to the desserts, every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. My favorite was the cute fish amok which was incredibly rich in flavor.

We were recommended Restaurant Malis by our guide and it did not disappoint. We went at the start of June in the low season (still no idea why it's the low season) and the restaurant was quite quiet but still the ambiance was excellent. Our delicious food was served in good time by waitresses who attended our every need - even pouring my beer in stages to keep it cool. We had Cambodian kebabs and oxtail soup to start, pork chop and duck curry with rice as mains and washed down with 1 beer, 1 bottle of wine and a bottle of water and it only came to $74.47 (about £45). Just jump in a tuk tuk to Malis and you won't be disappointed.

I changed upon this place after seeing it on TA. Decided to have breakfast and some coffee. Nice place to sit and read the news. Food was nice but I didn't really have much bad food in Phnom Penh. Staff were really friendly and observant. They noticed I didn't touch any of the eggs and asked if I didn't like it or don't eat eggs.

The Malis Restaurant is located at the main road so is pretty easy to locate the Restaurant. Upon our arrival, there are 2 waitress standing at the entrance of the Restaurant to welcome & greet you to the Restaurant. There are 2 dinning area, we requested to sit inside the Restaurant rather than the open dining area.
Menu with variety choice of food from Western, Chinese, Japanese, local Khmer food, etc. Food served within 15 minutes, which is quite efficient and fast. The foods are fresh and taste good, especially the vegetables that we ordered. Throughout my stay in Phnom Penh, this is the best meal that I ever had. With the atmosphere, food and the services, you can feel the enjoyment and relaxation from beginning to the end of your meal. The food here is not cheap nor expensive but consider the quality of the food and the atmosphere, is value for money.
However, this is non-HALAL Restaurant, so is not suitable for Muslim's traveler.
