Located in the center of Phenom Penh, the Kambuja Inn is a family run hotel located in an old French Colonial building. It is located on a quiet side street, but within a 15 minute walk to all of the major sights including the restaurant and bar filled riverfront.
We visited the Killing Fields outside of town and borrowed the hotel's DVD player to watch the movie of the same name we had purchased at the Russian Market. It was a remarkable day.
Phnom Penh can easily be seen in 3 days-we spent 4.
The hotel does not have a restaurant but there are numerous food stalls selling tasty Cambodian food for $3 and restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines within 5 minutes.
Kambuja Inn is a great value hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. It is in a good location, fairly quiet but near tourist sites. The room itself was large, clean and nicely decorated. It had an old carved wooden sofa and fragrant jasmine flowers on sticks by the bed. The grounds itself are also pleasant to walk through, with fish in pools and vintage furniture. The included breakfast was good quality. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a room which directly faced a stairwell window in the opposite building, which made it awkwar...

Had a lovely time staying here. Room is very spacious, clean and lovely decor. Toilet is really clean and spacious (not sure, but it looks newly renovated). Location is great. walking distance to royal palace, museum, romdeng restaurant, etc..staff is courteous, and always ready with warm smiles..breakfast is yummy. they have a few options, from fruit salad to sandwiches, pancakes...
The slightly "negative" comment is the room is quite dim, (even after we switched on all the lights available) but after a while we get used to it, so no problem.
All in, a great gem of a hotel. two thumbs up! :)

A good clean hotel around fifteen minutes walk to the riverside. Staff are very helpful and breakfast is good. Easy to get around the locality via tuk tuk. The bar is pleasant- just as well as you will definitely need a drink after seeing the killing fields and S21 interrogation centre!

A lovely French Colonial style hotel. The rooms are lovely. If you get a room close to the road, it is a little noisy at night with the passing traffic, but nothing too over the top. The staff were very attentive and were happy to help with anything. They had great knowledge of Phnom Penh, from how much a tuk tuk should realistically cost, to which bus companies travel where. They were also happy to book our bus tickets for us, which was a real bonus. The only downside to this hotel is that Phnom Penh's red light district is located two blocks away. We quickly learnt to only turn right from outside our hotel, which gets you up to the main part of the city and the riverfront.
The staff employed here are all from disadvantaged backgrounds. The hotel focuses on training them in the hospitality industry so that they are able to get jobs, which is something they wouldn't have been able to do before. I highly recommend this hotel. Despite it being near the red light district it is a wonderful location, with amazing staff!

Room Tip: Rooms closer to the back of the hotel are a lot quieter.

Slightly older French style inn. The management have tried to update an old style hotel and have done a fairly god good job of it, although bathrooms need a facelift, but for the price hey it was ok.
Staff were excellent, always helpful and obliging.
Walking distance to Royal Palace and waterfront.
Would stay there again.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the road as it can be noisy on a Friday/ Sat night.

I have in the past stayed in a hotel near this one and was never happy.
This hotel is quiet ( does not allow " lady's of pleasure" in) and is generally frequented bby couples. The door clses around 10 pm ( you can wake the watchman)
Breakfast was great ( 3 choices - all good) and the location is great - close to the palace and the a short walk to the river.
