“Excellent hotel in excellent location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2012

Location provides easy access to the Royal Palace, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields. It is also located close to the river, good cafes, restaraunts, the Foreign Correspondents Club and shops. Breakfasts were very good. The hotel staff were very polite and curteous. Our room was large and clean - the shower was great. The view from our hotel room was of a wall - not great. However, we would strongly recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Request a room that does not look out at a wall, if it concerns you.

Great location close to the river. We stayed for 3 nights. Breakfast was good. Air con in the room was good. The rooms were comfortable and clean but ours had a strangely stained ceiling and looked out on to a brick wall. Despite this we were more than happy with the hotel and would stay again. They seem to be doing a fair bit of renovation, the new lounge bar next to the pool is comforable and air conditioned and serves an excellent fresh fruit shake.

This is a conveniently situated luxury hotel in Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia. Close to the waterfront and close to the Royal Palace, it is also convenient for the local restaurants.
The rooms are spacious, clean and modern.
The staff are helpful.

Reading the reviews of others who stayed at the hotel around the same time as me, I think I really lucked out. I had a lovely room on the 5th floor overlooking the street, with great views of the market to the left, the river promenade to the right, and all the across-the-street neighbours straight ahead. As noted, the hotel is in a great location - lots of restaurants close by. The room was clean and very attractive and I had no noise or smell issues. The breakfast buffet offered all the usual choices of hotels in Southeast Asia and the rooftop terrace was a lovely spot to greet the day. And the pool, while smallish, was lovely and well-tended - a perfect retreat to regroup after a day at S-21 and the Killing Fields. And I really appreciated the use of the computers in the front lobby. Many thanks to the kind and gracious staff!

Room Tip: Do ask for a front room with a balcony.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights after a lovely stay in Siem Reap… the quality of the hotel was ok, but a step down from Siem Reap, probably a given since we were in a bigger city. Our room was pretty basic, clean and tidy, two beds which were comfortable. The bathroom was large and ok. There was a pool but we didn’t really sit by the pool at all so I can’t comment. The breakfast was ok, but fewer options than our first hotel… fine for breakfast. Nice to have breakfast up on the roof. Fine for a few nights but had I have stayed for longer, I would have liked a little more comfort from a hotel.

Very noisy - renovations going on loudly all day next door and rooms are dusty. Tonight they did maintenance after 8pm in room next door - banging and hammering. Maintenance going on everywhere - day and night. We have kids who could not sleep because of noise and neither could we. Pillows are thin and old. We never normally complain about anything but were very disappointed with this hotel. Would not stay here again even though location is very good. Second day they decided to paint hallway outside our rooms ! Paint smell was horrendous and they erected scaffolding around our door so we couldn't get in or out! This is SO NOT a four star hotel - we were very disappointed. Breakfast good but hot foods were not heated! Do not stay on fifth floor as noise from restaurant late and then early! We don't understand why they put us in these rooms with renovations going on all around us! We paid top dollar for our rooms so not happy!
