I have stayed at the Royal Inn Hotel a number of times and always look forward to returning there. The staff are very helpful and go the extra mile to do things for you. Most of the staff have very good English skills. The rooms are nice and clean and a good size.
The choice of food for breakfast is not great and Asian is definitely better than Western, however, it is adequate.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Independence Monument, Royal Palace, etc. Other places are easily reached by tuktuk.
Buses like Giant Ibis going to Siem Reap will pick you up from the Royal Inn which is handy.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street have a small balcony and you can watch things happening. However, they are a...

We stayed overnight here after a long flight and thought it was a great little place in Phnom Penh. Just outside the backpacker zone so we ran into more locals on the streets than tourists. Great location, clean, friendly. Staff helped us book the bus to Siem Reap the next day.

The room is okay, clean and decent. The staffs are friendly but we had difficulties to communicate in english with them. Nothing much for breakfast. Finding halal food nearby is almost impossible. The location of this hotel right at the center, nearby to shopping places and other attractions. We can easily get the taxi / tuk-tuk from this hotel.

They accommodated with our special request and go all the way make us happy. We were worried we would not be having a good stay initially but it all went down well. The aroma in the hotel itself are soothing.Food served was good.Somehow i missed the omelet from the breakfast. One of the best i have eaten.Great location.

- This hotel is perfect for people who only use their hotel to rest and shower.
- Friendly staff. English speaking too. Help me to arrange travel to Siem Reap.
- Okay location. A 2km walk to the pier or you could hire a tuk tuk.

the redeeming features of this hotel are stylish rooms (although no hand soap and noise echoes from room above- ie hard floors), and very friendly restaurant staff.

Reasons I would not recommend this hotel:

1. Location is poor (it took 4 tuk-tuk drivers to have even heard of it); the area is far from the centre, and in a seedy area (constantly harassed by massage parlour workers)

2. Poor breakfast choice (didn't bother the second day)

3. Unhelpful reception staff (strange contrast to very kind restaurant staff)

4. No rooftop garden bar, as advertised due to wet season (conveniently not mentioned on agoda).

In conclusion, this would be an ok place to stay maybe for one night on transit through PP. if you're in PP for longer, stay somewhere more central!

We arrived quite early in the morning around 0900H and the room is ready to check-in after 30 mins of waiting. The room we stayed was very comfy, with 2 kids and double bed there are quite spacious and also with a bathtub intact, you could never complaint more compare to the rate you've paid. It takes about 10 minutes walk to the riverside, royal palace and the national museum. Tuk2 are easy to get at the front of the hotel plus there a lot of massage parlor along the street which offer you a very good price.
