“Pleasant Oasis”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Great location - lovely Oasis right in the heart of the city. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and very helpful. Pool area most pleasant. Restaurant - good quality food at reasonable prices. Cocktails in the bar excellent and extremely inexpensive. Plenty of tuk-tuks on hand for transport. Would highly recommend to family and friends.

Room Tip: Request a room on a lower floor as there is no lift - preferably one overlooking the pool.

Nice little get a away in the heart of the city. Great location, friendly staff, nice rooms (for me that's modern, pretty minimal but quality). Really nice pool area too to escape the mid-day sun before heading back out

The 252 Hotel in the middle of noisy PP is a wonderful oasis of tranquility and peace. With it s greenery, the tasteful pool area, the central location and the wonderful knowledgeable staff with excellent command of English, some speak French and German, too.

They can help you to organize transportation and other bookings for fair prices, they give you good advices where to go and what to avoid. Furthermore, the owners treat their staff with great respect and trained them well. No wonder that they have more or less the same crew since they opened some years ago.

Some time ago the management made some adjustments with the breakfast which is now much better - especially if you don t like eggs for breakfast you have the option of muesli and yoghurt, too. Breakfast service is - by the way - very charming and efficient as is the reception crew. Thank you very much. The 252 is my home from home if I am in PP.

It was my 5th stay there - and if I travel to PP - it s always my first choice.

Room Tip: it s worth the extra money to book a room towards the pool with wonderful view and a nice balcony...

Truly one of the most welcoming and friendly staff I've encountered in Cambodia, and I would recommend staying here to everyone. The hotel itself is aesthetically pleasing and very accommodating. Lovely poolside dining area to eat and relax by. All of the staff members were extremely sweet and very helpful. During my travels, having a comfortable home base to return to after a day's excursions is a must for me, and the 252 provided just that. Every meal I ate there was very tasty, rooms were comfortable and clean, and there is a 24 hour guard manning the entrance. Unfortunately, when I arrived in PP, I was suffering some stomach illness, and I am very grateful that I was at the 252 while it happened. They had fresh coconuts, it was quiet, comfortable, and peaceful, and I felt safe having my younger sister explore with our driver the 252 had pick us up from the airport. We used the same tuk tuk driver everyday, and he was always waiting just outside the doors for us. Wonderful place to stay!

We stayed here 2 nights on our tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. After our journey from Chau Doc, in Vietnam and our dusty tuk tuk drive through Phnom Penh walking through the gates of the 252 was like walking into another world. The pool has private "cabanas" along one side and the restaurant area along the other. It all feels cool fresh and serene and a real contrast to the hubbub of PP.

The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff all very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was excellent as were the meals at the restaurant and there was a good choice of affordable wine.

The 252 arranged a tuk tuk to pick us up from the dock and Ravi was there waiting for us. He then became our personal driver for the next 2 days taking us wherever we wanted to go and waiting for us outside.

We would recommend this hotel as a good base to explore PP especially the cocktails and a dip in the pool at the end of a long hot dusty day sightseeing.

Hidden behind a large wooden sliding door is a little haven of style and tranquility.
We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the peace and quiet.
We took Tuk Tuk's to the river area and having the prices on reception really helped with negotiating.
Cocktails around the pool were excellent.
Would definitely recommend a massage by the Blind that are all over Phnom Penh.
Only 6 dollars and the best proper massage I have ever had.
Take a guide around the Royal Palace and you get the most wonderful stories not only about the palace but about life in Cambodia past and present.

Dear Caroline,
Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us as well as the cocktails at the pool side. Indeed, the massages performed by the blinds are different from the ones you usually get here in Cambodia. The lady who does the massages here at the 252 trained several of them. We hope to welcome you again next time you are in Phnom Penh.
Best regards,
Stéphane

This is a nice small boutique hotel in a good location although not too close to the Royal Palace like some other more expensive hotels. The hotel is very clean with a nice swimming pool and great day beds to relax by the pool. It has a very good wifi connection throughout the hotel and the owners and staff are very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend staying here particularly for the price - an excellent value.
