As one of the newest discos, (with food, of course), Pontoon looks very nice. Nicely decorated and clean to a fault, I wandered why I didn't feel comfortable there. I finally concluded that it was like an artificial imitation of so many other places. It had nothing new; nothing to claim as "it's own" like so many other place. It's just too normal. Sure, the food is OK, and reasonably priced, and it's hard to fault the decore and layout. But it reminded me of a place that could be replicated around the world like a MacDonald's restaurant. Maybe time will give it some unique distinctions, (if it survives time), but for now, expect plain, artificial, normality at Pontoon.
