the diamond palace hotel has a good location near the national musuem and the royal palace and also beside the mekong river ,the room is very small ,the bath room is less than normal the bed is clean ,breakfast is less than normal (eggs with every ration ),access to you room with your laggages is not easy wiyh narrow stairs no lifter ,you have to decide 23$ a night ,i think it better to search more otherwise is acceptable

The Diamond Palace Hotel is just an Ok, Ok hotel. Nothing great about the rooms or the location of this hotel. Staff was pretty nice, the breakfast is just about edible. I just slept and showered and was out at Naga World most of the time. The hotel door would be locked when I got back at night, so I had to bang on the door until a guy comes to unlock it. There was NO hot water for a shower at nights so I had to take a cold shower. I Cleaned the filter of the air-conditioning myself in order to get some cold air, and that was after they change my room once, I've come to my conclusion that the maintenance of this hotel is BAD, I do judge hotel on things like these, filters, shower curtain, etc.

Room Tip: Look for hotels that are more central, somewhere near central market or on Monivong Street. If staying at the Diamond Palace Hotel Don't get rooms in the front which are the rooms with window, very noisy in the mornings. There is a furniture manufacturer in front of this hotel that starts work very early in the morning, noisy.

Stayed there for 5 days last April (1-6 April 2012).

There was really nothing spectacular about this hotel. No swimming pool and fitness center. But I must say that it was nice stay all in all -- given the price and location. No regrets.

Let's talk about the room rate and other charges first. For what's supposed to be a 3-star hotel, prices of room and food were relatively reasonable. Can't remember how much I paid exactly, but it was very affordable.

About the room. I was given a room at the mezzanine. Pros: My room was always kept clean, has cable TV subscription. Con: Outdated furnitures, no window, slow (sometimes, non-existent) Wi-Fi connectivity.

About the location. Pro: Location is good. Just minutes away from from historical sites (such as the Royal Palace and the National Museum), shopping district (the Night Market), and allows a 15-minute drive from Phnom Penh International Airport. Con: Noisy area (Sothearos).

Feel/ambiance of the hotel. Good that it had an international feel to it because of the presence of expats/foreign tourists, including some visiting Filipinos. Plus, hotel was not too crowded during my 5-day stay, so it was kind of homey for me.

About the food quality. The resto downstairs (lobby area) was supposed to serve Asian and Western dishes. But it fell short of my expectations. Sandwiches and salads tasted bland. Noodles were not good, too. But I thought this can be forgiven because of the low price.

Staff were also very friendly, always ready to provide assistance. This compensated for the fact only two of the 5 staff members knew how to speak decent English. Communication was made easier.

In sum, book into this hotel of you are looking for an accomodation that's budget-friendly and offers a better location in the Cambodian capital. But don't expect too much in all other aspects.

Clean rooms with big batroom. The lobby is modern and nice for hanging out. Staff is friendly and has a good level of English. We booked our bus to Saigon directly at the lobby. Breakfast was just ok, but decent.

Basic rooms nothing fancy but has AC, hot shower & free wifi throughout hotel. Free buffet breakfast with good selection western & Asian food.Good location but best thing about hotel is the service...absolutely brilliant, the staff are so friendly & helpful the service really was excellent. Arranged bus to sihankonville for us much better to do this then booking through travel co as some very dodgy bus companies out there!! Overall decent hotel for short stop off in city & would def stay again
