“Great bar in PP serving good burgers and great fun!”
Reviewed 22 March 2013

Any comments below criticizing Quealy's on the grounds that it is not really a restaurant are missing the point here (although I accept it may have been put in the wrong category here). A genuine Irish-run pub run by a friendly Irishman. This is what sets this bar apart from so many others in Phnom Penh and why it is a frequent haunt of many a local expat. The owner is always present so things are run consistently. Here a mix of tourists and expats can come for a chat and a drink in cosy comfortable surroundings with decent selection of music. The bar is open later than most, if not all, the bars on the same street and although I personally am not a whiskey fanatic ( I'd rather drink the water from the Mekong) you'd be well placed here if that's your tipple. My one criticism of the bar is it's sometimes a bit on the small side when there are a good few people there but this is hardly a complaint. There is plenty of seating outside in the forecourt....I just prefer sitting at the bar.

It's Quealy's Bar & Grill and although primarily a bar...burgers, gourmet hotdogs (and the occasional pot of Irish stew if you're lucky) is served from the grill. I have to say the burgers are amongst the best in town and are served until midnight when the young lady in charge of cooking retires for the night. Spent many an evening in Quealy's and can recommend it as a great place to sit and wonder what the hell is going on around you!! And by that...I mean outside the bar.. also known as the city of Phnom Penh. Which truth be told, can be a bit chaotic!

“A genuine Irish Pub”
Reviewed 5 January 2013

I found Quealy's completely by accident after it was recommended to me by an expat. How refreshing to find an Irish bar with an Irish owner who is actually there behind the bar. No fake Guinness signs or any of the commercial nonsense so common to Irish pubs around the world. A nice cosy L shaped bar which makes it very easy to engage in conversation with the many interesting locals who frequent the establishment. Great music selection too.
I noticed a flame grill going on out the front but did not dine while I was there so cannot comment on the food. Or the whiskey. But the beer was cold and plentiful.
Definitely worth a visit.

“If you like whiskey”
Reviewed 10 May 2012

Met up with a Cambodian friend who likes whiskey. He suggested we try Quealy's. Whilst he enjoyed himselrf sampling the various whiskeys on offer I didn't particularly enjoy myself. The atmosphere is nothing special being on a noisy, dirty side street and the snacks we ordered were certainly nothing to get excited about. I guess if you enjoy whiskey it is worth a visit, otherwise no reason to go.

“Not really a restaurant”
Reviewed 8 May 2012

This is very much a bar and shouldn't really be on TripAdvisor's restaurant section. A small friendly place with a large selection of whisky if that is your thing. As for food, a very small menu that really didn't grab our attention. For a meal you should go elsewhere nearby on Street 172.

“Tasty BBQ!”
Reviewed 30 April 2012

I love the whiskey. Quealy's is primarily a great bar. They have alot of great whiskey.

The patrons are fond of drinking and its a really fun bar with cool music. Its a good place to meet colorful people late at night.

The BBQ was very excellent. Only $2.75 for an imported NZ beef sausage freshly made with real English ketchup and French mustard. YUM.
