“an oasis of style and relaxation”

in the midst of the buzzing streets of Phnom Penh la maison d'ambre offers calm and quiet.
the room was tastefully decorated, huge with a large balcony.
all rooms are unique, following different inspirations. i stayed in the shanghai gesture room, which consists of a full size appartment with kitchen, dining area, living room and a huge bedroom.
the double glazing makes the room very quiet.
the hotel is ideally situated in the center part of the town, making most tourist attractions and cafes/restaurant a mere 2 minutes tuk tuk ride away.
the staff was very friendly and attentionate. one advice: must try the signature cocktails on the design packed roof terrace for a great before dinner al fresco experience. i ate lunch and dinner there, and can really recommend the food there.

After have a nice stay in siem reap a big disappointement inPhnom Penh. We choice this hotel why we love boutique hotel.
Pro
Location
Room decoration

Con
No pool for this price this is not acceptable
Staff can not be helpful and take expensive price with their commission (airport transfer and travel to Kep)
No management presence at all
Poor Breakfast
Restaurant with view but expensive and not good at all

For this price you better option in Phnom like Plantation or the Raffles in a standard room

After arriving by boat up the Mekong, this was a relaxing experience. Our room was very large and modern in its appointments. Most importantly for us, the bed was very comfortable. Given its location, we walked everywhere except at night (not because we felt unsafe except for the traffic).

The staff were exceptionally friendly, gracious, and helpful. We had a lunch and dinner at the restaurant, as well as breakfasts. All of our meals were well prepared and tasty. Special kudos to Verak, the restaurant director, with whom we enjoyed pleasant conversations about life in Cambodia. Verak is a returned American of Cambodian descent who of course has perfect English. We made a special bond as he dotes on his newly born daughter, as we do our young first grandchild.

Good value for what you get,

Stylish apartment hotel with about twenty individually styled suites and a nice roof top bar and restaurant. We only used the restaurant for breakfast which was al a carte style dinning and nice quality. We stayed in a Manhattan themed apartment with kitchen, bedroom bathroom and lounge. The whole apartment was large, well equipped and looked like it was furnished from a Dwell catalogue (that's a compliment). Staff were very friendly and spoke good English.

The hotel is located approximately 10 minutes walk from the river front where a majority of the western friendly and up market bars and restaurants are located. The walk is straightforward and felt safe although for the first few minutes the main road you pass down is through a dirty and baldy lit local market area.

We stayed for 2 nights in a two-bedroomed suite which was very spacious and clean. The kids wanted to stay longer. With its own veranda it was fascinating to sit and watch all the activity below. One morning I even watched a troop of monkeys making their way into town on the telegraph lines strung down the streets! The rooftop bar and restaurant was very nice with great views.
The hotel is in a central area , within a few minutes walk from the riverside.

Room Tip: Two bed-roomed suites are like a self catering apartment with kitchen and large living/dining area

Stayed here for one night in a two-bedroom suite. Spectacular design and furnishings. I wish I could've stayed here longer.

Location is very good - walkable to the river side area bars and restaurants.

The hotel's restaurant and bar are also quite amazing. Great drinks and food. Killer views.

La Maison d'Ambre is a place to relax in the middle of Phnom Penh. The rooms are huge with all the comfort you wish for. When you walk out on the street you are in the hustle of allday life, and in walking distance of the riverside and Wat Phnom.
We stayed three nights in the " midnight in Paris" room, and enjoyed every minute of it.
The staff is very friendly and helpfull, from the manager, to the women who clean the rooms, and everyone else!
The hotel is decorated in a tastefull manner, and every room/suite has its own theme. There is the rooftop bar where you can enjoy a drink and snacks and watch the sun go down, and you can eat dinner while enjoying and overlooking Phnom Penh.
There are many bars and restaurants in the streets around, and the local market, just a bloc away!
