A good hotel close to the center of Phnom Penh. The rooms are excellent and the bathroom is clean and good. The staff is extremely friendly and the service of the hotel is good. There is a bad point and that is the coffee is nasty. Furthermore, the breakfast is adequate but could have been more extensive. I can highly recommend this hotel, and will definitely come back.

River Palace Hotel is a decent property it is not a Palace as the name suggests but still a decent property. The staff are very cordial the rooms at least the one we got was good. They have a SPA which too is good and clean. Where they can improve is on their breakfast there is limited variety which is ok but to be told that the hotel has run out of fresh fruits even bananas is some thing which can happen but should not.

Granted the hotel has a large facade and entrance area. The staff were very welcoming as demonstrated by warm smiles and a non-alcoholic refreshment upon our arrival. They made an assumption, incorrectly, that my male travelling companion and I were to share a room, when in fact we had requested separate rooms. Once that was cleared up, I was given a corner room over looking the river, which i really did appreciate. However, the windows are not sound proof and i heard lots of noise from the occupants just next door, as well as the all night crowing from the rooster (the hotel has no control of either) . There was a large stain on carpet, but otherwise the room was very nice. I enjoyed sleeping on the bed, because it was extra firm. I agree with the majority of the raters, the breakfast was not memorable. My companion indicated he really enjoyed the massage there.
Just as a side note, we were quoted a price of $15 USD to have the hotel tuk-tuk take us to the Killing Fields and back. We negotiated down to $10, but ended up really giving the guy a huge tip. Be advised its about a 20 - 30 minute ride from the hotel and it can be a bumpy and dusty trip. We loved it! Our driver even stopped and bought us masks and more importantly he made sure I knew not to have my purse loosely hanging from the side, where it easily could have been snatched. His tip was deserved.

What this hotel lacks in charm it makes up for by the warmth of the welcome. it is a very old style Asian hotel with very dark corridors and large communal areas. The staff cannot do enough to help from the moment they pick you up at the airport ( complimentary ) to the moment you leave. A free one way Tuk Tuk takes you down to the Central Restaurant area from which you can return at your leisure for $2. A Tuk Tuk from outside the hotel will take you to see all the sites for around $20 or the Hotel will organise it for you for a few more dollars.

The breakfast is good with many choices many of which will be freshly cooked to order. Overall a really good experience and great value for money.

Room Tip: You may want a 4th floor room if you are on street side or a river View.

Can recommend River Palace Hotel - got rooms with river view. Lovely breakfast next day - was only short stopover but no hesitation in recommending.

Agree with other reviews - rooms are quite big and def clean.

Room Tip: River room was worth it IMO.
