Stayed in Phnom Penh for 4 nights for business! Hotel is ca 25min from airport by taxi. I was really positive surprised upon arrival! Service and hotel staff kindness and real warmness during all the stay was really the best I have meet during my travelling in the last 10 years and I can say, that I have travelled quite a lot.

For shure it is best place to saty which was confirmed by my colleague who has been in many other hotels in Phnom Penh including Raffles. By Tuk-tuk to riverside it took approx. 10-15 minutes!

I payd 107 EUr per night for King Size luxury room incl breakfast and will deffinately stay there next times!

This hotel is incredible! Staff was always eager to help. We had a smooth and seamless stay at the hotel. The bed was so comfortable we just sank in and slept soundly. Pool area was awesome! Staff never ever hinted for tips. The main drawback for us was the location of the hotel was across town from the major tourist attractions. Expect standard Intercontinental prices for food, internet, etc.. while you are here. Internet is charged by the amount of time that you use it. We ate all of our meals outside the hotel as Cambodia is a cheap place for food (about $3.50 for a sit down restaurant meal) and the hotel is charging approximately $12 for a sandwich.

Without doubt, the Phnom Penh InterC is the the biggest player in the city, having the reputation & appearance of an exclusive establishment, apparently its the place to be seen if you want to flex your credentials.

This hotel featured in 'Banged Up Abroad' Series 7 it was portrayed as a Bangkok hotel where greedy foreigner Tim Schrader met up with a dodgy underworld guy to smuggle drugs to the U.S. & got done. The hotel entrance & lobby feature in the episode.

At around $250 a night for a small room in this city, its expensive, being an Ambassador member we were entitled to a free upgrade, it took 90 mins to organise. Room 1521 was an Executive Suite on the top floor. Featured 2 toilets, a separate make-up room & walk-in closet. Soft lighting via lamps created a soothing atmosphere easing the steam blowing outta my head from our long check-in. The 2 TV's were old chunky 68cm jobs & need modern LCD upgrade. Satellite channels were available inc. Australia Channel. King Bed had fine silk smooth 1000 thread count sheets without any stains & included free pillow menu from Room Service. Electronic safe, robes, slippers & nice little touches such as mini Colgate tooth paste, mint-tipped tooth picks & Elemis bath products in large 150ml tubes rather than the standard 30ml mini's. Room Service regularly cleaned our room & replaced our towels.

The Club Lounge on the 14th floor has 2 computers with free wireless. Afternoon Tea offered sandwiches, cakes & free beer was available from 4pm. Evening Cocktail canape & food selection was limited & poor compared to other regional ICHs, their Blue cheese & Brie were memorable, however room service here is cheapest I've seen at ICH. We preferred the buffet breakfast in the main lobby which was very good. Large selection of foods including local Khmer noodles & soups, Western favorites, Yum Cha goodies & egg chef which makes it all a nice memory to return to.

Being an Ambassador Club member, we weren't ushered to the Priority Check-in or Club floor, disappointing for their Club program, epic failure right here. No room upgrade & had to ask for it like a dirty scab. Took over 90 mins for staff to find a room. Perhaps i have an ugly face which scared away all the good service I hear about? Perhaps being with 2 girls, friend & partner made me look shady as the politicians there for a summit enjoyed a lot of private company.

We had a comfortable 2 night stay but it was marred by our check-in disappointment & the inability of staff to resolve our disputed transactions, being charged for stuff isnt cool. Most shocking was how staff refused to provide the general managers email when requested, this is unthinkable anywhere else besides maybe lawless Somalia. After much research & guessing, at least 1 of our emails found the GM who was fair & listened to our concerns, a credit to professionalism.

When you are out of the Backpacker age and still like to visit "3rd world" places, hotels like the Intercontinental (or the Hilton) are always are good choice, even if you would prefer more romantic options at home in Europe/N.America.
So we landed in the Interconti in Phnom Penh, an impressive concrete structure in a city with very few highrising buildings. Inside it´s modern, inviting and appealing through the charme of the local employees.
The rooms are fine, just ok - Interconti standard, that´s what you expected.
The same goes for the bars and restaurants, all in excellent & clean condition, once again the friendly service is the paramount feature.
A Dim Sum luncheon incl. tea goes for a flat rate of US$ 17,50 + svc p.p. - that´s more than a highlight, just great.
If your stomach just calls for a snack only, go to the little cafe in the basement and have a sweet or a hearty little meal.
The happy hour found us in the lobby bar, of course - wine selection is limited, you are in Cambodia, not in Burgundy or Mendoza/Argentina. But it´s fine and summarizing the stay you can only feel at home in the Interconti - Cambodia is outside, you have to balance your wishes!

The hotel is lovely but overpriced in relation to other hotels in Cambodia. The rooms were very nice, friendly staff, the shower was excellent, pillows and beds were comfy but couldn't get over the prices!! $9.50 for a large bottle of water at the pool!!! You can go outside and pay a $1 for 2 small bottles. The hotel is well out of the way so if you wanted to go down to the riverfront where most of the pubs/restaurants are it was $5 each way so it all adds up. The Killing Fields is about a 30 min ride away too but definitely worth going to. Check out time is 12 noon and we were getting picked up at 5pm - they charged us $90 to keep our room on which I found extortionate but necessary otherwise a full day virtually would have been lost. There is a deli on the ground floor which has lovely sandwiches and cakes. There is also a restaurant a few doors away called Scoop which is western and japanese food...lovely setting and the food was excellent, well worth a visit although again more expensive than most places.

We were a group of three families that stayed over the New Years for two nights at the Intercontinental Phnom Penh.

As others have mentioned, the hotel is quite expensive by Cambodian standards although not by international standards.

All three families were upgraded to Club rooms on the 14th floor so we enjoyed the use of the Club lounge (quiet breakfast, great coffee, happy hours with excellent snacks during the evenings) and that has certainly influenced this review.

The staff were polite and courteous, service was very good too.

Unfortunately, the assistant concierge who was staffing the desk on one of the two nights was totally out of his depth. He had no idea about how to use the computer in front of him to get directions to a restaurant that was not listed on the map, nor was he able to effectively use the telephone after we provided him with the number. We ended up having to call the restaurant ourselves using our own phone at international rates. Not what you'd expect from an international hotel!

The pool area is really nice, although the water was quite chilly which did not make for an enjoyable swimming experience. Also used the table tennis facilities and the gym, both of which were well maintained.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this hotel with no hesitation.
