This was a truly unforgettable experience, exactly how they describe it and you would expect of the 'Raffles' name.
We where fortunate to be upgraded, and found ourselves next to a room that had a security guy sitting outside! Well the next morning ( after an evening of trivia as to who we thought it could possibly be) we found out when he left it was the PM of Cambodia. I hope he also realised there was some special people also in the next room to him !!!
Joking apart breakfast fabulous , swimming pool a welcome break to the city life. happy hour- well that's always welcome ( but truly was a good deal) Rooms luxurious. Overall a good deal
Can't make a comment about the location as once we stepped into this hotel we never went outside, until we checked out, as we didn't want to miss a minute of it. (we hade travelled 10hrs to get there)

We were in a hotel close to Raffles ans went in a couple of times for a drink, on our last day in Phnom Penh we paid $30 each so we could spend it next to their outdoor pool (spa membership for the day). The whole day was wonderful, the pool was beautiful, jade green and such a joy to swim in. The poolside food was good, especially as we are vegetarians and had a good choice. The staff were extremely attentive but never in the way. My husband on the spa membership used their gym in the evening, which he said was extremely good

We stayed here in January for a night and had a great time. The breakfast was fantastic and met my high expectations !

The hotel is located in an area roughly 5-10 minutes from all the embassy's, riverfront cafés, shops and tourist attractions. The property is massive and has a wonderful pool in the center. I've stayed in Phnom Penh for work plenty of times and had always wanted to try this hotel, it's the most expensive hotel - but definitely lived up to its great reputation.

Room Tip: Inside area not facing the (potentially) noisy street.

My husband and I have just spent 3 nights here, on a mini-break with another couple. The hotel was superb from start to finish. We were upgraded on arrival (always a bonus!) and had a comfortable room with a lovely big bathroom and a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. The service was outstanding from all members of staff. We were greeted by name wherever we went, and the staff could not have done more to make our stay as welcoming as possible. We had pre-dinner drinks in the Elephant Bar every night which I can highly recommend, and we had dinner in the hotel dining room on one evening (food was delicious if rather expensive!). We will definitely stay here again. Thank you Raffles!

Just one night in the hotel but it definitely had a great feeling about it, and just as beautiful. Check-in took some time, reception couldn't find our booking and after giving her the reservation paper from agoda and my passport she kept asking what my name was? After about 20 minutes (a bit long for check in) all was sorted. Rooms also elegant but absolutely no Wifi, that only seems to be accessible from the lobby. Worth a stay.

The challenge of maintaining a landmark hotel built nearly a century ago are considerable, and at The Raffles in Phnom Penh, they are no doubt especially challenged. Little in Cambodia is well maintained for a long list of reasons. The Raffles succeeds where others have failed, and in walking through the gracious hallways, history seems to come alive. There are, of course, certain compromises required in choosing to stay at an aging facility, and the rewards of choosing a venerable hotel are sometimes insufficient to overcome the limitations, such as undersized rooms by today's five star standards.

So, don't expect a big room and be prepared to witness features in need of renovation. Choose carefully the direction you select for a leisurely amble from the hotel. Within two poorly chosen blocks of The Raffles, we encountered rat road kill, street monkeys (no exaggeration, and they were intimidating) and piles of garbage on street corners.

The staff at The Raffles was outstanding in every way. The breakfast buffet was first rate. The restaurant facilities and courtyard/pool exuded authenticity and splendor.

The WiFi was very spotty but management says they are working on it. Compared to their peers, they feel down in this area,.

This was our second stay here and I think we will always choose Raffles when we return. It really annoys me when people complain about mosquitos and wifi when you are in a country like Cambodia. The staff at this beautiful hotel will go out of their way to help you with anything you need. Whilst the Elephant Bar is lovely, we prefer the little bar in the foyer more as the girls there were very friendly and happy to converse. We haven't tried the restaurant as we prefer to go out and explore the city but breakfast is excellent. The concierge organised push bikes for us without any problems. (Thank you to the numerous Phnom Penh policemen who helped us in the traffic!)
