“Boutique budget hotel with charming staff”
Reviewed 2 January 2014 via mobile

Spent 2 nights here and would stay again for a short stay. Rooms are fairly spacious with a small sink/kitchenette, fridge/ minibar. Bathroom is fine but as with many hotels in Asia, there's no shower cabinet- just a shower curtain if you're lucky so basically you shower over/ beside the toilet.

There was no breakfast but you can buy juices/ Lassis/ shakes at reception and there's lots of restaurants within 2 minutes walk, as well as costa coffee around the corner from the hotel.

Location was good, near independence monument and safe- in the heart of the embassy district. Tuktuks are plentiful and cheap- there was always one or two at the hotel ready to give you a lift. We hired one of the drivers for the day to take us to the killing fields, S21, Russian market, etc.

The highlight of this hotel is the staff- they are friendly, charming, very helpful and keen to ensure you enjoy your stay.

Rooms are very compact rather small but very clean. Shower and WC are very small. The staff is very efficient and helpful.
There is no lift or even intercom so for any question or anything you need, you have to go down to reception which was not comfortable for me.
Location is very hidden and not known to tuktuk drivers so you must carry hotels card with you. I stayed just for a night hence cannot say much about other services.

Stairs only mini-hotel in BKK1 area which is about 1km from the riverfront and national museum.

There are many restaurants, massage shops & spas, cafes, and convenience stores around this hotel. Breakfast is not included in the room rate which suited us well as we preferred to explore the restaurants in the city.

Since the hotel is 15m down an alley off the busy main street, there is very little traffic noise. The alley is well-lit and there are 2 family-run stores and a restaurant.

We had 2 standard rooms and a penthouse. The rooms are of different layouts with more than enough space for 2 adults and large luggages. We like the kitchen-sink-like counter top and the amenities in the rooms. The penthouse is on the rooftop with a lounge area accessible by all the guests. During the day, the A/C was not sufficient to cool the entire penthouse but we were fine during the night. Spacious bathroom with good water pressure!

It's easy to get tuk-tuk and taxis outside the hotel to get around the area if you don't want to walk or cycle.

The hotel manager, Mr. Arun and his team really made us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay. We prefer the warm and friendly ambience of a mini-hotel like this, rather than the cold and clinical feel of big hotels.

We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and return during our future visits.

Room Tip: Since there is no elevator, this hotel may not be suitable for everyone.

The hotel has a good location, very friendly and helpful staff. Moreover the rooms are clean, with air conditioning and fans and the price is right: for us this hotel is highly recommended for 1 or 2 day stay in Phnom Penh.

The hotel is a little difficult to find but all the tuk tuk drivers know top banana - and one up banana is a little further down the same main street on the left hand side - away from the independence monument. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and even gave us Christmas presents! The rooms were spotlessly clean and well equipped. Great showers, comfortable beds, kitchen areas in the rooms. The food and drink were a bit overpriced for the area, but to stay there is great.

Hello evieinindia,
We enjoyed reading your review. Thank you. As we do not have our own kitchen all food is from nearby restaurants. We are looking into this to change so we can offer better and better priced food to our guests. To be continued. Happy New Year and thanks again for taking the time to write your helpful review.

If you are looking for a relaxed, incredibly friendly and clean hotel with a good location, here you go! Writing this review in the hotel lobby because I have been so impressed by the last 4 nights here and can't gush about it enough. Rooms are spacious, lobby is nice, close to many restaurants, bars and pharmacies etc. and easy to to get to anywhere via tuk tuk.

The staff are absolutely amazing and I can't believe how affordable the place is considering the overall quality. Will be coming back 100%.

- Happy customer!

I found this tiny hotel through tripadvisor and must endorse the previous top comments. I'm traveling by myself and stayed here for two nights. The staff is really welcoming, gives honest recommendation and arranges any kind of service you need (Visas, tickets etc). Also the rooms are spatial and super clean. Highly recommended!
