I knew nothing about Phnom Penh prior to arriving so I took a gamble and booked this hotel. I have no regrets. While the hotel is hidden and most Tuk Tuk drivers have no idea where it is, once found, its very nice. The staff are welcoming though they speak far less English than I had expected based on other reviews. They made sure that I was comfortable in my room. The Pool on the roof is spectacular. This alone makes this hotel worth staying at. You can relax by day or until 11pm with a cocktail and eat there too if you are hungry. The breakfast is just ok. It's a little simpler than I would have expected but it's free so you can't really complain. I will say that I had an evening snack of Lemongrass Juice and the cucumber and yogurt salad and I was amazed at how delicious and clean it tasted.
Here are the down sides to the Patio;
The wifi is very slow and can be frustrating and the noise from the nearby construction can be distracting. Since that is only temporary, ask to be on a higher floor and you should have no issue. The hotel, while in the city is not really close to the main attractions (you will need to fork over $2-3 each way for a tuk tuk) though there are plenty of stores and restaurants within walking distance.
If not on a backpackers budget, this hotel is a solid option when in the city of Phnom Penh.

Room Tip: pick a higher floor to avoid the sound of the construction. Pick a lower floor for better wifi recep...

staying for a week on business. great location. clean and new! easy access to nearby restaurants and attractions. staff is fantastic. a bit hidden bc of its location on a side street. room and outside noise a bit loud but could be bc there is no isulation on windows and entry doors to prevent noise disruptions. a little sparse on the pillows, towels and toiletries. overall very happy with the accommodations.

This hotel is relatively new. It is hidden in a side street. The pool is very good. The room was very clean. Staff were a bit over-attentive. The breakfast was good. There was a restaurant in the hotel which was satisfactory, but there were good restaurants within easy walking distance.

I could not rate this hotel highly enough. A friend and I have thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. The staff are friendly, the dinner food is amazing and the roof top pool is to die for.The facials and massage at the day spa are a great way to unwind after a day of sight seeing. Stay here if you want a remarkable Phnom Penh experience.

Good room, clean, fresh towel every day, bed firm, only one pillow per person. Good breakfast, good coffee, could order omelet and Asian food a la carte, not take one of these dishes waiting for hours for you. A few restaurants and bars in front. Close to the Independence Monument. Pool has a wonderful view!
Minus point is the garbage never removed in the alley just before getting to the hotel.
Cambodja is dirty!

We visited our daughter in Phnom Penh and could not have been happier with The Patio as our refuge this exotic city. Very helpful and friendly staff, clean top to bottom, comfortable room with daily service and a spectacular roof top to start our day with breakfast included in the rate and a beautiful infinity pool on top to chill and enjoy the skyline for a break from the hot days and fast place. The location was perfectly situated, down small alley off the busy street but near everything. Don't know if we'll ever be back but would not consider staying anywhere else but here.

This is a relatively new hotel, great infinity pool on roof.
Staff are under trained, willing but not good (poor management)
Rooms are basic , beds hard and the doors dont fit, huge gaps in all the joinery, so if you dont like bugs and mozzies this is not the place for you.
Breakfast and meals in restaurant very basic.
Had evening meal once and did not get what i ordered, when i questioned this the response was "we dont have any left so we thought we would surprise you'. Again lack of training
There is a lot of building work next door and a small bar which some times stays open late and can be very noisy, especially as the gaps in the doors are so large its like they are open
Note - i travel to PP every month so try many hotels, this is not one of the best, but could be if the staff was trained, had a decent breakfast and the food was reasonable in the restaraunt
I doubt i will be staying there again there re much better hotels in PP at much more attractive rates

Room Tip: stay some where else
