This hotel is an old colonial building. It is newly renovated. Big rooms, good breakfast, good Wifi in room, safe in room and the location is perfect. I don't like luxery places so this hotel was PERFECT for me!

i stayed here for 3 nights with my husband. we were given a standard room with a king size bed & another single bed.the room was clean & the bathroom was okay, not too small. we requested for a flusk but the receptionist told us it's available for suite room & they don't have extra. in the end, they provide us with hot water using our own tupperware. the breakfast was nice with variety of choices. but the location of the hotel is the best. 5 minutes walk to the royal palace, national museum, wat ounalom & sisowath quay. 10 minutes walk to central market. the hotel staffs were also friendly & some can speak fluent english.

Phnom Penh is one of my transit cities -I have taken the Mekong Express Bus to Siem Reap or HCMC. In 2013 I stayed at the Angkor International Hotel twice, in January and again in June. In Jan I had the Standard Double Room -basic, quiet and clean. In June I had the Superior Double Room -much nicer, quiet and clean. The new lift was installed possibly in the second half of 2012, very convenient. The hotel was and is still undergoing renovations, never a problem during my stays. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The hotel has recently increased their rates but have added breakfast.
The Angkor International Hotel is centrally located on Street 147 where it intersects the north/south Street 15. The riverside area is only a 5-10 mins walk, and tuk tuks are generally $1 for the shorter journeys or $2 for the longer ones. Central Phnom Penh is really quite walkable, and safe if you have some street savvy and take care at night -beware of motorcycle snatches, they are quite fast and will even try to snatch smartphones out of your hands!

Room Tip: Neither my Standard or Superior rooms faced the street and so were quiet, both had windows....

The stay at Angkor International was ok. On the positive side, the staff was helpfull and they had a nice hotel bar with some couches outside "semi-hidden" from the street.

But the negative outweighed the positive: The bathroom appeared to have been renovated within the last couple of years, but stopped at 80%. (e.g. no knobs for towels in the bathroom, no shower curtain). This was in addition to really bad lighting in the bathroom (that made it really difficult to see anything) and the toilet was broken (oh, and very old towels, and no hand towels).

Unfortunately we also delivered our laundry to the hotel, which then was returned with a letter written with a pen on all the garments (e.g. on the inside of the underwear, t-shirts etc..). Not the way I would expect them to treat the laundry.

Love here with extreamly friendly hotel staffs!! Especially their desk manager which like to have a conversation and funny jokes with u. The foods are excellent also and the waiters is friendly. The location is not bad which is close to the market and local foods. Although the environment is not that good, but overall me and my friends enjoyed our stay there.

Hotel was located a ten minute walk from the National Palace, five minutes from the riverfront, ten minutes from the Wat Phnom monument. Friendly and helpful multi-lingual staff. Satisfactory, free breakfast included. In-room wifi is dicey (ours didn't work) but free internet stations downstairs. Rooms were clean with strong AC, though do not include blankets unless asked. All toiletries included. Hotel Restaurant was a good side option for those not wanting to deal with the hustle of the city.

Great value option at a central location.

Booked this hotel based on reviews and because it was within our price range (on a budget) I have to say I was very pleased and it exceeded my expectations. Really nicely decorated hotel, clean comfy room, polite staff. Couldn't have asked for any more considering the great price I paid. Would definitely recommend.
