“Standard hotel. Excellent location.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2013

This hotel is not going to make your jaw drop in terms of the decor and ambiance. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is good enough. The rooms are clean, and the bed is comfortable. In room wifi is fast and reliable. The breakfast could definately be improved, but it is there, and there is some choice. And the pool is a nice attraction.

In terms of service, don't expect to find any service here. The front desk clerks are quite clueless. No matter what questions you ask them, whether it being directions, information or billing issues, they just don't get it. Expect to spend at least 30 minutes explaining what you want, in 30 different ways and then still walking away with the wrong answer. Furthermore, they do not seem to believe in smiling at their guests..

Don' t let that deter you though, because price/value is quite good here. The rooms are standard, but good enough, but the absolute winner of this hotel is the location.
It may seem to be located on a quiet side street (which it is), but there is so much around the hotel, you may never want to leave your 'hood' . There are many restaurants, eateries, and cute establishements around. (just turn right, when leaving the hotel.. and at the next crossing there is loads). There is an excellent massage place right next door, and many others around. You are only a few blocks away from shops and the supermarket Llucky's).

If you do want to venture out to the river, you will have your Tuk Tuk drivers waiting for you right in front of the hotel and within under 5 minutes (1$) you are in the center/river area.

My feeling is that it is much nicer to stay on this quiet street, than in the middle of the -well- other stuff....

Good place to stay if you have a few days to spend in Phnom Penh. People are nice, rooms very nice and clean, an enjoyable rooftops (kind of) pool, and although you have to take a tuk tuk to get to the (noisy) waterfront, I prefer this as it is quiet, central, and with a few very good restaurants nearby.
Only gripe? Small restaurant with less than average breakfast. Wifi works well.

Room Tip: Make sure you stay in the x19-x-28 rooms, as they are more quiet than other rooms.

Stayed three nights. Room was comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. It was nice to come back to a well air-conditioned room after walking around in the hot Cambodian sun. Hotel is centrally located for most Phnom Penh attractions (Russian market, Royal Palace/National Musum, S21 Prison). Staff was very friendly and most spoke understandable English. They were helpful in arranging transportation. Breakfast was nice with eggs to order, fresh fruit, Asian dishes and fresh coffee. Good value for the money..

Three nights and three breakfasts.

It felt like a visit to an aging relative's home:familiar, comfy, welcoming AND in need of an update.

Beds were firm. Covered by well broken in linens. Breakfast was tasty with fresh fruit, Asian stir fried dishes and eggs to order.

Wifi, tv, roof top pool (that could use a filter update).

Allin all a solid value.

I stayed in Goldiana in early 2012 for a conference. It was comfortable and practical but no frills. It had everything I needed which often included two to three showers a day since it was so hot at the time! The breakfast was standard with omelets cooked fresh to order in the morning. The fruit was the best part of breakfast. The service was great, the staff friendly. They helped me book my bus tickets to Siem Reap and arranged for my transport there with my luggage. Overall, a good place to stay for a short business trip.

Very wonderful welcome and first impressions at what is obviously a solid three star property. Very clean, well furnished with all important features (e.g. Air conditioning) working very well. Strong, free wifi and an excellent breakfast. Great find!

.For $35. a night you got a large hotel with rooftop swimming pool and breakfast with made to order omelets. Rooms were a bit worn and the carpeted areas were only cleaned by hand sweeping. However, the bedding was of actual cotton sheets that were were crisp and even smelled clean. Changed daily. The tile in the bathroom was worn or cracked and apparently not swept everyday but the counter area appeared to be clean. The AC worked well. We had a late night return flight and were pleased to learn that you could keep your room until 5 pm and only add 50% of room rate to your bill. We did this so that we could shop more and use the room for one last nap and shower before leaving for our flight.
Excellent location with neighborhood filled with good dining choices.

Room Tip: Middle of hall and back side of hotel for a quieter stay.
