This place has a bit of a worn out feel as soon as you walk in. In general the rooms are basic but ok. Old school shower just out in the open, so you stand in the bathroom next to the toilet and just go for it.

We had problems with the AC not working on 2 separate nights and nobody could care less. There was a window but it just opened into metre-wide cavity. So basically we were stuck in a stifling sweat box. The manager said "sorry" after the 2nd night like this and nothing else.

Friendly staff, nice location, clean, best of all it's cheap! We were given a welcome drink at check-in, which was unexpected. It seems that they strive for guests to feel like they are at a high end hotel, without having the pay the high rates. Our room was only $40 CAD/night and it includes breakfast so we were pleased. The room was clean, tiles on floors are nice, and a white bedspread is always appreciated. There's lots of noise from the street, but it's probably hard to find any quiet areas around. The only thing we really had a problem with is the washroom. It's weird that there was no shower curtain so everything sprays onto the floor and there was a gross sewage smell from time to time. It seems to come from either the toilet, or the drain hole beside it.
Location wasn't too bad, 2 blocks from a bar street and about a 10 minute walk to Wat Ounalom. However, we were told by our cab driver from the airport that you can get hotels with a river view along Sisowath Quay for 40-45 USD/night. It might be worth checking out if you want to be in a more central, touristy area.

It's a good location. Staff was friendly. We got a free room upgrade. Room was big. It's not the cleanest hotel we've stayed in. The shower wasn't clean at all. And there was no hot water even when we waited 15 minutes like the guy from the hotel said. Breakfast was ok but when we came (both days on different times) a lot of the trays were empty and they didn't fill them. Wifi was good.

This is a new hotel, and a nice find for Phnom Penh. The staff is attentive, the room was nice, Air Con and WiFi worked fine. The location isn't terribly central to anything but definitely the best choice in the $30us range.
