“Decent hotel on a central location”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

Decent hotel right in the center of Phnom Penh. Good spacious room and nice bath room. Staff helpful and understand English well. A bit nuisance by street noise. We had a room with a shower cabin so no problem to keep the bathroom dry during showering. Nice terrace on the top floor for breakfast and bar. One day a asian group stormed the restaurant for breakfast and because its a bit understaffed it took very very long to clean up the mess and add new supplies. Next day was much better. Short walk to the boulevard.

Hotel is located in quiet area, close to the Phsar Kandal local market (must see, great experience!). But is is a bit far from the main area - Sisowath promenade. I really liked lobby, very spacious with nice big vase filled with the water and floating lotus flowers. Staff was professional and very kind. Ready to help anytime with a wide smile and good English. Breakfast were diverse but not ready at a promised time. But terrace was a plus (nice sunrise view). Rooms were spacious too, really clean and comfortable with modern equipment. Wifi was not a problem. I have no objections here.

I know it sounds petty, but the reason we opted for this hotel over others was their promise of a gym. The first day there, the treadmill wasn't functioning. However, after asking the front desk, they sent up two people to fix it. I saw on the machine that the belt needed to be lubed, but he somehow bypassed the problem and it was fine. The next day, the machine read the same problem. I enquired at the desk (different staff from the day before) and they said they couldn't understand what I was trying to explain. Eventually, she said she would send someone up. I waited 30 minutes, and no one came. I was very disappointed. Breakfast was okay, but you need to get there around 8 because when we went at 930, all the burners had been turned off and the food was cold. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable.

Originally had a superior room but had to get the room changed as there was a problem with the air condition. The superior room is good but however did not like the open air shower as everything gets wet in the bathroom. We were upgraded to a deluxe room with a enclosed shower stall. Breakfast was good with the usual juice, coffee, bread, cereal. Outside on the patio they had made to order egg/omelet and also made to order noodle soup. Hot food inside was stir fried vegetables, Asian noodles, mini Wieners and fried rice, and fruit. The above was buffet style. The last day because of occupancy, the above hot food was only available by menu and was not buffet style. Location is close to a market, national gallery, and the river walk. As there is no side walk around that area or most of Phnom Penh....care must be taken or risk being runner over by scooters.

Our first trip to Phnom Penh. We booked a standard room and was given a room on the 2nd with the view of the next room (no view) and the toilet is an open toilet - no wet and dry area, all wet area. Asked for another room with a view and a better toilet and had to pay extra US$5:00 per night which is alright.

However the wifi was not working on that level. Then was transferred to the another on the 4th floor - the wifi was good on that level.

The toilet was leaking under the sink area - every time we used it. Cleanliness is not their forte.

The room, however, was large and the bed was good with 2 pillows person. Excellent!!!

The electric kettle could not hold water - it leaked out.

I did not particularly like the breakfast.

The staff was good and friendly. The male receptionist who worked in the afternoon shift wearing green shirt is really good. His information is the most accurate compared to the people running the tours.

This place is good for its value. Location is quite good too. You can walk everywhere.

We stayed here for 2 nights (for our Phnom Penh Day tour) last May 5. I have no idea about the price (because our travel agent booked the room for us, instructed them to book in a cheap yet decent hotel) and was quite surprised because the room is spacious (we got the triple room), neat and elegant.

The location is good. There is a convenience store one block away, walking distance to the Tonle Sap/Mekong River and to the main road (Preah Norodom Blvd).

The buffet breakfast is located at the 5th floor/roof top, and you can enjoy your breakfast while observing the locals daily street activities. They also have a fitness room on the 3rd floor.

The staff is very friendly! I recommend this hotel to anyone who's planning their trip to Phnom Penh :)

I was referred to this hotel by a local friend. It's actually a nice clean hotel, refreshing and has a lovely outdoor breakfast area with a view of the sunrise over the city, which I think gives it that small boutique hotel touch.

The rooms are ok, fairly spacious but nothing special, basic with all the amenities. Beds are comfortable. The hotel is renovated from an old building so the facade of the building is not really that spectacular. The lobby is simple, outdated design but clean because of the renovations.

The staff can speak basic English, can understand. Although it took them a while to check us in like photocopy my passport, etc. But otherwise, no issues in the process.

Location wise, it's quite good, near the riverside, maybe around 4 blocks. Also near market so a bit crowded in the streets. We just stayed 1 night, so did not really have time to explore the area surrounding it.
