Incredibly welcoming staff (especially the lady on the front desk, sadly didn't get her name), fantastic rooms, beautiful building and it really does feel like a little oasis away from the crowds. Worth every penny!

Perfectly placed oasis of French colonialism, what a superb hotel, excellent value for money. The staff are the best, just simply can't do enough for you, had the best de stressing back and shoulder massage in the hotels spa in years. Everything it says on the box and more, will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Really wide range of rooms, we had the studio which was massive and would be ideal for a couple with...

After spending many stays in the same hotel, we decided for a change, based on friends recommandations. And they were right!!
This little hotel has everything we need, and more.
It is very well maintained, very clean, everywhere
More helpful and friendlier staff I have never seen, even in higher range hotels.
The restaurant by the pool is good, breakfast is on the high end.
Very well located in the city, very quiet in a busy area.
I will definitely stay there during my next trips.

Only negative: the wifi was poor in our room (but very good in public areas)

If you are looking for a place with no children screaming og crying this is the place. Worth every second. Just enjoy the scenarie, pampering and high quality food. Rent a tuk tuk, prices are mentioned at the exit.

I've been staying here at The Pavilion for nearly a week and have loved being here. The room with private pool was great but the big pool is also great & more sociable. The superior double was mire spacious. Can't go wrong really. The staff have been fantastic (especially Michelle) & the amenities are excellent. The location is outstanding - away from the glitz of Sisawath Quay and a short walk to the Palace, Nat Museum, Wat Sarawan & the buzzy little strip at Street 172, just around the corner to Freebird Bar. We established a very happy groove here and I will be very sad to leave. In short, highly recommended.

The hotel is well located close to the palace and riverside walk. From the outside it looks like nothing special and then you open the door in a wall to find a haven from the heat and bustle. The hotel reception area, pool and restaurant area are beautiful. We found the staff to be helpful and charming. We had a 'family' room which was great for mum and dad but our teenage children had very hard 'put up' beds and we all found the aircons to be very noisy - these things can and should be fixed. Overall a very pleasant stay in the heart of a very interesting city.

Dear Guest, Many thanks for this kind review. The A/C of this room cannot be fixed and we are putting a new one in, sorry it took a bit long to organise. As for the extra beds, indeed, we chose mattrasses a bit harder than the main beds. Not sure it was the right choice inbeed. Some like them, some don't. We might offer two choices, hard and soft. Cheers, Alexis

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
