Nice and basic rooms for a low price. Location is so-so. We booked a really nice tuk-tuk tour through the hotel which visited the killing fields, the prison and the russian market for only $5/person (excluding entrance fees).

It might just be difficult to find a good and cheap place in Phnom Phen, Sunday guesthouse was cheap enough, but not really clean nor were the staff particularly friendly. Stayed in a double bed room with fan for two nights. Upon arrival we found out the bathroom was not cleaned, sink was leaking, no sheets for cover during the night, only a rather iffy towel kind of blanket. In addition the room was very noisy, right above a humming air-conditioning fan and we suffered from loads of mosquitoes coming in trough the bathroom. Only plus was the balcony which made for excellent lounging.

We had 5 nights here and our stay was very pleasant. It is run but a nice family who are friendly and helpful. We only paid $8 for a double room with private en-suite, hot water, fan, good wifi and TV. It is in a great local area where you can walk around the small streets and experience real local life and food. It's a 20minute walk to the river front, a 15 minute walk to the S21 museum and 25minute walk to the Russian market. The location for us was perfect as we were able to eat some amazing local food that isn't extortionately priced for tourists, get a real feel for Cambodian culture away from the backpacker area and walk to most tourist attractions without the need to pay for a tuktuk. If you want to experience culture, eat local/cheap food, enjoy a comfortable, well priced clean room and don't mind short walks this guesthouse is the perfect choice.

(To start, I'm going to use "great" a lot. Thats just the best way to describe the place.)
The staff was great and very helpful- but not overly so. The location was easy to get to, from and around. Rooms were great and had a cool little balcony community area. And all that for a great price. Took me a minute to figure out the shower but that's the worst thing I could say about the place. A great choice of a place to stay while in Phnom Penh.

Sincerely,
A traveling American 20-something female

Based on the "our pick" in Lonely Planet, we booked to stay here. The rooms are clean but in real need of an upgrade and incredibly basic. To be this far out of town it needs to be cheaper: it's $2 into town, and $2 back (2 people), adding at least $4 onto the price of the room! The staff are friendly, but in Cambodia, the staff are almost always friendly. A/C units are not like anything I've seen before! That said, I slept well here and all the tuk-tuk drivers know where it is. We moved to a different place after two nights.

Rooms are pretty big, staff very helpfull, but we had a feeling we were overcharched. We're not sure off course, but we felt the owner/manager tried to book us on pricier tours and busses. Still, had a nice time. I would reccommend it as a good value for money type of place.

If you are looking for a good cheap budget guesthouse then this place would suit you. Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean enough but for the price, you can not complain. I would definitely stay here again the time I am in town.
