Nice surroundings in the hotel and also in a good position for visitors to Phone Penn.
Decor is modern and good private areas. Our bedroom was dark and overlooking another restaurant,so we had quite a bit of noise each night. If you can,ask for a bedroom overlooking the pool, they were much better and had balconies.. We didn't like the liquid soap, very harsh on the skin, felt like washing up detergent,so ended up buying some Dove from the supermarket.
we had large single beds so could keep cool.
Security people were very good, even looked after scooters we had hired.
Very nice floral arrangements in main dining area each day.
Breakfasts were excellent. Full European and Asian. Fabulous fresh fruit each morning.
Dreadful coffee if you are used to flat whites etc. I couldn't drink it.
Go to Ducks for good coffee.
Very nice little boutique shop which sells some nice gear, and nice momentos , reasonably priced. Especially the peasant pants, fabulous for the heat in Cambodia.
Good storage if you need to store after checkout.
Good tuktuk driver's available just outside the Villa.

Our first visit to Cambodia and Villa Langka was our first port of call. We couldn't have asked for better service - from the airport pickup (Vanday is a delight!); reception (Sitar particularly) and across all other aspects of the hotel. We stayed here twice - at the beginning and the end of our visit to the country. We stayed in a suite and our only disappointment was that we didn't get the same room both times - one was definitely better than the other - although size and cleanliness were very good in both rooms. The outside furniture on the balcony of the second room was very uncomfortable and because we tend to spend most of the time we are in any hotel on the balcony this was an issue for us.

The restaurant food was very good and in fact I had one of the best red beef curries I have ever tasted here. Breakfast was plentiful - very European style - and tasty.

The hotel is well located and the reception will organise tours. Sitar organised a taxi to drive us to Otres Beach (where our daughter lives), which is about a 4 hour drive and we were delighted with the driver and the vehicle.

We would certainly stay here on our next visit.

Room Tip: If you are booking a suite ask for Room 4!

Great service, beautiful pool, excellent food. Tuk Tuks at the front gate. Ask for Dim. He's a great driver and a wealth of information. Head to the Foriegn Correspondents Club on a Sunday evening and get in the thick of PP social life on the way.

Villa Langka was recommended by a colleague who had stayed there before. It is very central to everything and there are many wonderful restaurants within walking distance. At first we were a bit disappointed with our room, but actually it was somewhere we went to sleep rather than spend time in.

The staff were always great and helpful, the pool was lovely.

This was our second stay at Villa Langka, the first in January 2013, and although this time we stayed in one of the hotel rooms, it was still lovely.

One odd thing was the empty glass bowl on the bathroom counter - it seems to have a decorative purpose, however the decorations were missing :-o

Room Tip: Choose one of the villa rooms, the hotel rooms are nice, and the ones on the outside of the building...

what VL provides in spades is good value for money. nearby highlights: "the Lost Room" restuarant run by aussie expats - superb; Browns coffee - the best in PP; Malis (spelling?) restaurant on Preah Norodom Blvd for exceptional modern Khmer cuisine; Foreign Correspondents Club for any sunset: the Metro bar and restuarant for espresso martinis and asian fusion food. Hire a "big" boat and take an esky full of beer at Riverside. Go for a quad bike tour combined with Killing Fields. Go to CTN studios for the kickboxing any saturday or sunday afternoon, take beer!

I have stayed here 4 times now and Villa Langka is a good location, with an old villa and a new multi-level building around a small pool and garden. My first room in the new building looked over the road and a noisy restaurant next door. For my other stays I asked for the old building and it was quieter. I love the breakfast, with a huge selection of local fruits. I had some nice dishes from the restaurant too, especially the raw marinated sea bass and fresh pepper corns. The pool is too small to really swim but nice to relax by. Staff are polite and helpful but not especially friendly. Even after spending 3 weeks there, I can't say they really went overboard to make me feel at home. Basically, a long stay doesn't seem to generate any extra perks, but I've had the same experience in other Phnom Penh boutique hotels.

Room Tip: Make sure your room does not overlook the restaurant on the road (not the hotel restaurant, it's...
