I had read some bad reviews, but I have to say that the Hotel is totally of a western standard. The rooms are spacious, clean, decoration is not the best, but it's not so important. Bathroom was clean and new.
Breakfast has a wide choice, including fresh made omelettes.
Wifi works OK in the rooms and in the lobby.
Frontdesk staff speak good english and are friendly.

Well it is probably far from what we would expect for a 4 star hotel in a city like Astana. The traditional brands are planning their own hotels for 2014 (Novotel, Hilton, ...) which will increase competition (and service level). But this is not a bad choice considering what is available at those prices in the city. Do their best to improve.
Rooms of higher category are nice and big. Quality of bed is not fantastic (too soft). Temperature cannot be controled from the room (so overheated). Small details could be improved (toiletries, ...). Dinner (Pilaf) was very nice.
General level of English is still low.

The hotel is about 15 minutes drive from airport and about 5-10 minutes away from city centre. The 10-storey building has large and comfortable rooms. Rooms have all the requisite toiletries but complimentary bottled drinking water is not provided. Nor is a kettle and complimentary tea/ coffee. Free Wifi is available in rooms and the entire hotel. The hotel has a nice restaurant. It also has a spa. Staff are polite and very helpful but other than the receptionists none speaks english. Currency change facility is not offered by the hotel but money can be changed at a bank a few minted walking distance from the hotel. There a several conference or meeting rooms for small conferences.

Ad you can see from the pictures that I've posted the hotel is not good for europeans.

1) BREAKFAST : coffee cups stuck one to another because of the dirtiness. You can see old coffee still inside the cups and on the dishes, so they are sticky.

2) FOOD : How can you eat ? Just think what they are cooking for you in the kitchen when they are not washing dishes. I only had packed biscuits and packed yogurt.

3) BATHROOM : take the shower and your bathroom becomes a small lake.

4) FRIDGE IN THE ROOM : take a look at the picture I've posted

5) BED : really too soft, and it's hard to get to sleep.

6) AIR CONDITIONING : you are not allowed to adjust the selector. The temperature is fixed and not set to your personal comfort. Sometimes you feel like someone is smoking in your room because the air conditioning conducts are not separate but in common with smoking rooms, or anyway, it looks like.

6) LOCATION : I've been advised not to go out for a walk alone in the surroundigs because it may be dangerous and unsafe.

Notes about service:
-) they didn't clean my room because they said they have lost the key.

-) they called me on the phone by mistake after midnight asking me if I was the one who ordered a bottle of water.

Not suitable for europeans.

I booked my room online but when I reached the hotel (despite I have confirmation number and email) I was told sorry we are sold out, and we will send you to another hotel or you can wait until 2:00am to get your room.

I stayed for 3 days in this hotel, in a room on the 7th floor. Everything looked modern and maintained. The breakfast was very good, the restaurant for dining in the evening as well. The room was spacious, very clean, and even had a comfortable desk & chair. Internet was fast. The bathroom was clean and up to date. The only bad thing is the location of this hotel. That said, for the price difference when staying in downtown, one can take many taxi's. The hotel is about 20 minutes walking from the peace pyramid, and there is a shopping mall nearby on a 10 minute walk.

i stayed in the hotel shortly after its opening and the ratio value/price was great for otherwise horrible overpriced astana. after another 5 months i returned and everything went a bit worse. starting from the end: he ordered wake up call was forgotten, with early breakfast prepared hastily only when i arrived. from the A in the room water started to drip the last night and almost broke my cellphone. out of the four days, only twice the room cleaning was without large mistakes (once, i had to require it at 6pm, the other time there was no paper in the toilet, and glasses were not changed /washed). and, well, wifi is still free, but no more fast. the reception staff is nice and polite, but... well another hotel on a soviet trajectory, i am afraid: amazingly launched, then slowly fading down... next time, i probably return to esil again.

Room Tip: semi-lux rooms (at the end of hallways) are good choice given the space and light
