“Good food in a sophisticated environment but expensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2013

We wandered in here to escape the heat late one afternoon for drinks and appetizers. We had 3 appetizers, the shrimp was excellent, the others good but not amazing. We had 2 drinks. The bill was $50, which seems too much for me in Laos. If you don't care about the price, the atmosphere is very fresh, the service excellent.

“Good French Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 January 2013

We really enjoyed our meal here, not in small part due to the fact we were exhausted with eating the local cuisine. It's not exactly haute Parisian food but is a good close approximation.

“New address, still a great restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 January 2013

Le Silapa has left its quaint narrow two story building with the potentially dangerous stairs but lots of atmosphere and moved a few hundred meters down the road to open again above I Beam.
The new venue is a single room with high ceilings and plenty of windows though unfortunately the views are limited. The atmosphere is quite different, but pleasant and functional.
The menu has been changed a little but still offers the best prepared and presented western food in Vientiane. The service is excellent from all staff: it is efficient but not intrusive. The wine list is good and there is the great advantage now, thanks to its relocation with I Beam of having a range of still wines and an excellent sparkling wine by the glass.
The old set lunch menu has gone but is replaced by a range of interesting dishes at varying prices, and good value in terms of quality.
Still a great place to eat!

“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2013

We went there two nights in a row to entertain customers. The food is great and very creative, which you would not expect in a destination like Vientiane. The service is seamless and friendly. Absolutely stunnig wine selection, and Frederic, the owner, is happy to give recommendations, which have never disappointed.
All in all a great place with a great atmosphere which could easily compete with a top notch restaurant in a major city.
I will definitely come back, when in Vientiane.
