We stumbled upon this family-run hotel along the Mekong River when looking for a new hotel. Middle price range, it was a welcome change from the low-budget or very expensive offerings in Vientiane. Quiet. Large rooms, nicely decorated, beautiful traditional wooden decor, large bathroom, fan and air con. Excellent wifi access (included) with a lovely, cool, second floor wooden deck (more like a sala) where you can work or relax out of the mid-day sun. The staff were friendly and very helpful. One daughter speaks excellent English and the others did their best, but our ability to speak Thai was helpful. You can see the river from the deck, even though it is not right on the river road (which is probably why it was so quiet at night). Breakfast was so-so and variable, but that was OK, and they kindly made us boiled eggs when we asked. Ten minutes by rented bicycle to main business district and only a moment from the very popular riverside park, where you can walk, cycle, even take an aerobics class at sundown or at 7am. Highly recommended for those who prefer to support family businesses and like the traditional colonial style of architecture!
