We stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed it. It's a family run establishment, and while English is spoken, it's fairly limited, but we had no problems. It's located right on the Mekong, along a stretch that is slowly being built up. There was a lively night market a short walk downriver where we got some tasty snacks. A few watch-outs: the wifi does not reach the rooms so you'll have to go to the patio or the lobby; the bed was more a box-spring than mattress and caused my travel companion considerable discomfort; not everything functions as you might expect (our bathroom doorknob was permanently locked and required a lot of monkeying with when we would accidentally close the door). That aside, there were many signs that they wee trying to improve service there, like implementing a more upgraded breakfast offering (which was very good, a mix of western and Lao) and they installed two computers in the lobby (but they didn't work). All that aside, the staff went out of their way at every turn to make sure we were comfortable. You could probably do better elsewhere in town, but for the money, it was great.

We stumbled upon this family-run hotel along the Mekong River when looking for a new hotel. Middle price range, it was a welcome change from the low-budget or very expensive offerings in Vientiane. Quiet. Large rooms, nicely decorated, beautiful traditional wooden decor, large bathroom, fan and air con. Excellent wifi access (included) with a lovely, cool, second floor wooden deck (more like a sala) where you can work or relax out of the mid-day sun. The staff were friendly and very helpful. One daughter speaks excellent English and the others did their best, but our ability to speak Thai was helpful. You can see the river from the deck, even though it is not right on the river road (which is probably why it was so quiet at night). Breakfast was so-so and variable, but that was OK, and they kindly made us boiled eggs when we asked. Ten minutes by rented bicycle to main business district and only a moment from the very popular riverside park, where you can walk, cycle, even take an aerobics class at sundown or at 7am. Highly recommended for those who prefer to support family businesses and like the traditional colonial style of architecture!

Room Tip: We stayed in the back building which might be the quietest.

I've stayed here about four times now and I'll keep going back.

Family owned and run, with friendly and fun staff who take care of everything you'd need from a bed and breakfast. Great a/c rooms in a quiet and beautiful location set a little back from the Mekong and no cockerels around! Inclusive wireless internet or use of their guest computer.

Simple breakfast served pretty much any time you want it. They don't have a restaurant but will happily order food from their other hotel and deliver it here if you want.

Stay with confidence.

We found this place quite by accident on arriving in Vientiane but sometimes it is accidental finds like this which truly make your stay in a town or city special. Although it felt like we were the first guests to stay here judging by the cleanliness of the rooms, this place just oozed character. The rooms were immaculate and after a couple of weeks backpacking, it was great to stay in such relative luxury without bursting our budget. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The best part about our stay here was the atmosphere created by the family who run it. They are so friendly and welcoming and really made us feel at home and gave us an insight into Laos family life. Sindaphone on reception knows all there is to know about Vientianes night life although some nights we found it hard to tear ourselves away from her entertaining company and our nights out turned into nights in! In a nutshell....if you visit Laos.....be sure and stop by and visit Sindaphone and her family. Even if you dont stay here, at the very least they'll make your day. They certainly made ours.
