We cannot fault this hotel in any way. Room was large, modern, very clean. The ensuite bathroom even had pot pouri. It is an outstanding boutique hotel for a great price of $30 per night. Very good value breakfast for an extra $3 per person. Friendly and professional staff. The location is also very central but in a quiet lane so a great night’s sleep. We stayed 3 nights but were sorry to leave. We also loved the decor of this hotel.

The hotel is situated in a French colonial house, with spacious rooms and a good bar. The staff are friendly, if not completely sure of the English language, and during our stay the french-speaking owner arrived and asked about our stay. We used the hotel to book a coach to Vang Vieng (at no extra fee), and were told to be in the lobby at 9:30 am for a 10 am departure. 10:30 am and after the staff reassuring us that everything was ok and we hadn't missed the bus, the songtaow arrived as a 'shuttle.' The shuttle shuttled us around Vientiane for 45 minutes then dropped us 50m from the front of the hotel infront of our bus. Had we stayed in other hotels before this, it wouldn't have been a concern - you get used to Lao business networks. The comunication between staff and clients is not fantastic, and had the owner not arrived we would have been much less happy with the staff. Overall, a safe bet for a quality room, internet connection and semi-western style hotel. 4/5.

Myself and my wife were doing a visa run from Thailand and decided to splurge a little (our Thai accomodation costs $150 (US) a month) with a $30 a night room. The reception area feels luxurious and the staff are very friendly, espcially the ones who want to practice their English with you. The room exceeded our expectation with massive beds and an airy feel to it.

When we started to explore Vientiane, we soon discovered that the Vayakorn is in the perfect location with most major sights within walking distance and a plethora of restaurants and bars on your doorstep.

How lucky can one get.............? We had no accommodation booked in Vientiane and asked at 3 Nagas in Luang Prabang what they would recommend as a good value for money budget kind of place to stay in Vientiane. Vayakorn Inn was recommended and at the rate they charge, it is a real little gem. Tucked away in a little side street just off the main drag, it is quiet, though central enough to walk to lovely restaurants and bars in the area. The room is not very big but we had two double beds and good water pressure in our bathroom - we have heard from others that this can be a problem in the capitol at times. Do not hesitate to book this little place, we feel so lucky that it has been recommended to us as we would not have found it otherwise!

We stayed for 2 nights at the relatively new Vayakorn Inn and were very pleased with our choice.

The room was not massive although adequate for our needs and very clean.

Vientiane is quite compact and you can get around it by foot quite easily. The hotel was very central but on a side street so traffic noise was minimal. We were woken during the night a couple of times due to cockerels and/or dogs but that's part of the Vientiane experience rather than anything the hotel could do!!

As there wasn't a safety deposit box in the room we gave our valuables to reception to be put in the safe, especially as the patio doors in the room didn't lock (we were on the 2nd floor so probably less of an issue).

If we visit Vientiane again we would definitely stay in this hotel.

We liked this hotel because of its location and cleanliness. Before entering the hotel you even have to take off your shoes! The location is perfect. It's an easy walk to the Mekong River and some nice restaurants.
Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. We checked in around 2pm and went for a city tour in the afternoon. When we arrived at the hotel around 10pm, me daughter noticed that her mobile phone was stolen from the room. We informed the manager in the morning and he was very embarrassed. He promised us to check with the staff but all of them denied to have stolen the mobile phone. The manager was very helpful and apologized several times. He even brought us to the bus station and paid our taxi to our next destination!
I would still recommend this hotel but don't leave valuables in the room!

We first went to Vayakorn guesthouse based on some advices, but there was no vacancies. The owner told us to go to nearby, newly opened Vayakorn Inn. We weren't disappointed at all!
The inn is fully furnished with neat and shiny timber, and it's mandatory to remove shoes at the gate.
Service is excellent, all staff people are attentive, polite and silent, and the manager is very helpful (and can speak an excellent French!).
For a mere 33 USD, you'll get a pretty wide room, all in timber, and breakfast for 2 people. Granted, view is not that great, but the room quality helps overcome that (it's really brand new).

I give it 5 stars thanks to the awesome service (and living in Malaysia, I really notice the difference ;) ) and the staff courtesy and efficiency. A definite pick.
