Hotel is quite new, very close to everything, very clean and service sometimes slow but I think these people are just shy and they try to do the best. to mention, Alex, a wonderful young person working in the coffee shop, speaks good english and very helpful. I would stay there again, I had a street view room for usd 30. but its quiet in the night.

Lao Silk is a new hotel in the center of town. Connected with it's own coffee shop. Service was sometimes slow, why on earth should you need to work? Dusting and general cleaning seems to be on a premium, and that's fine it the hotel is still new. Won't last though ....

This hotel have just opened for 2-3 years by young boy owners. (I heard from hotel reception). Quite new hotel. It's located between Fah Ngum Road and Setthatirath Road. If you come by Tuk Tuk, ask them to send you to Mixay Temple.

You can walk from hotel to MaeKong river at Fah Ngum Road, where the night market will open after sun down. Also you can walk to Joma Bekery Cafe, The Pizza Company, Swensen, Lao Center Point, Lao National Museum, Lao Culture Hall. Around the hotel is many hotels, guesthouses, bars, restaurants, convenience stores which you can choose freely to meet your budjet.

I choose Lao Silk Hotel, because I like the terrece in front of the hotel where I can sit, relax, and chill out with Lao Beer (10,000 Kips only). There is a small cafe' in hotel which can serve sandwich, snack, cake, soft drink, beer, and other light meal.

Internet is available, near the reception at 5,000 Kips per hour. If you want to check some email, or load your photo from your camera to hard drive, you can ask the staff for free of charge.

Hotel staff is very polite, and in good service. They also can speak English.

No elevator. No bell boy. You have to walk up to the stair, and carry your luggage yourself.

The room is clean, but quite small. There are built-in wardrobe, dressing table with a small chair. Also have air-conditioner, small refrigerator with free 2 bottles of water, LCD TV with cable movie, such HBO, Cinemax, etc. No balcony, but have a small window. Bathroom is also small, but clean with white tile. No bathtub, but have shower.

I sleep well at night, as there is no loud noice, even near the hotel are surrounding by bars, and restaurants.

There are 3 diferrent price from 170,000 - 250,000 Kips. In my opinion, this is cheap and worth paying.
