“Not a winner”
Reviewed 28 January 2014

Spent one night in Win Hotel in January 2014. While hotel is centrally located, rooms are very basic, bathrooms are poorly designed (no shower curtain leading to entire bathroom becoming wet after using shower) and breakfast is barely edible.

When we arrived we were given the key to our supposed room. When we entered the room it had not been cleaned since the last guest and it was exactly how they had left it. We went back down to reception with our luggage (no elevator) and we explained the situation and were given another room. So we went back up the stairs and opened the door to find someone was still in the room. Off we went back down the stairs to reception and we were given another room - wow just wow!! The room was the saddest looking room I've ever seen. Our 'window with a view' was actually a window on the inside wall of the room which had a lovely view of the staircase so we had to keep the curtains closed at all times. The walls are paper thin because we could hear absolutely everything. I know it's not the hotel's fault if there are noisy guests but surely they could ask them to keep the noise down in the middle of the night! Location is the only thing going for this hotel.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Win hotel in Vientiane, Laos for several days this last November. the room was clean and well kept, the hotel also includes a fantastic breakfast and all of the rooms were air conditioned.
the location of the hotel is near the center of the city and there are many things to see by or a short Tuk-Tuk ride away. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the win hotel and would recommend this hotel to anyone. you should know that there is no elevator but there are only four stories in the building. By far the best thing about the Win hotel was the woman who ran the place she was very helpful as far as getting our visas for Cambodia and setting us up with a tour of the city. She was FANTASTIC! She is fluent in 5 Languages so do not worry about communication, in fact she drove my friend and I to the airport herself in a nice van with A. C. the Win is close to markets and the mighty Makong river, but the best part was the service.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights before heading to Vietnam. This hotel is fine for a short stay. The location is great, and the rooms are a good size. The rooms aren't much to look at but are clean and do the trick for sleep and budget. The only thing we didn't like is that we had to kill about 15-20 mosquitoes in our room when we first got in. Then, the second evening (after being out and about all day) it seemed like we had to kill about 10 more that got in somehow... anyway, just a minor annoyance but we've never had THAT many mosquitoes in other rooms so far as we've been traveling SE Asia. Overall, it's a decent place but not the best and we'd recommend it for a short stay.

Nice fairly newish hotel. Clean rooms come with refrigerator and WiFi and a\c on the small side but nice. Comfortable bed. No elevator but only 3 floors and staff took my bag up. The woman at the front desk was most courteous and helpful. Good breakfast.

We arrived in Vientiane late evening without any real idea where to stay & fortunately stumbled accross the Win Hotel.

The staff were very polite & helpfull & the lady on reception speaks english. We were a party of four & took two rooms, which were spacious and clean with TV, fridge & hot / cold shower & loo etc.

We stayed for several nights & the rooms were cleaned & fresh linen / towels provided every day. Breakfast was a choice of either Asian or Western dishes with fruit. We were able to bring our own food back from the food markets & eat on the balcony in the evenings.

Its in good location fairly close to all the markets, the Mekong & temples. We were able to park the car directly outside the hotel in the street.

We enjoyed our stay at the Win Hotel & like Vientiane in general found it quite charming. For the money & given its location I believe it represented good value & we will certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: The rooms on the fron with balconies are a pleasant way to while away the evenings, eating food &...

If it was $6-$15 per night I would of been happy but $30 for a tiny room, horrible bathroom falling apart and they don't bother making the beds for you or cleaning out the old soaps and things from the previous people staying there. This wasn't just one room but three that we had.
