“What? A Wat!”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

The ancient Wat is truly beautiful and shows off the intricate work beautifully, but otherwise not one I would visit again

“Not as exciting as the advertising suggests”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

We arrived here late in the day so with just a 10 minutes viewing time, we were graciously allowed in without an entrance fee so we cannot tell you the charge but there is one.

Inside it is a plain courtyard with the usual Buddha statues in rows around each side of the courtyard. There were big vases in the courtyard but these were 'tired' looking. the central building is very small and they allowed NO photography at all or even from outside into the building and whilst inside was attractive though small, it is a shame no photography was allowed.

Of course we respect there wishes but surely God wants his glory displayed for all to see.

This shrine is very well attended by foreigners and we saw at least a number of people here. We report that the Wat is overrated and there is nearby an even better temple that is obviously used by many locals and is far more photogenic and we have the photo records.

See our reviews of the various attractions in this city for the other shrines.

We did not use the toilets in our rushed visit so we cannot comment and we did not see food for sale or offerings for sale anywhere.

We do hope however that you find meaning in whichever religious sites you visit.

God Bless you. We mean that.

This site is so close to the centre that the cheapest way to see it and a number of other city centre sights is by bicycle. The traffic is so laid back in Vientiane that you need have no fear on a bicycle.

You will spend a maximum of 25 minutes here.

“Beautiful and interesting Place to visit”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

We have visited Wat Si Saket in November 2013 and have really enjoyed the visit, the Temple is very original and it is very intersting to hear about the history of it. There are some very nice photo opportunities too.

“Best Attraction to see”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

This was a superb temple. It is surrounded by gardens, and once you enter, it feels like a different universe! So many buddha figures scattered all over the place. I would recommend that you arrive here early though

“A temple like many others”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

Nothing differentiates this temple from the many others you will see in Laos apart from the hundreds statues of Buddha. It won't take you more than 10-15 minutes to go around the temple.
