This boutique hotel offers a quiet oasis in the city, spacious rooms, nice reading room in the main building, and chairs for relaxing in the garden. Reasonable choices at breakfast. I had a room facing the breakfast area. When I needed privacy, I did not open the curtain on the window facing the breakfast area, but I got plenty of sunlight from the skylight in the very large bathroom area separated from the bedroom only by glass (and a nice curtain). I love the skylight and the spacious bathroom area. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the area with a lot of restaurants and services catering to tourists, but in return, you get a quiet and relaxing space.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- As Vientiane changes, so does our villa. Originally built as a private residence for a French family in the 1960s, the site became a school with up to 500 children in 1992 before it was turned into a hotel at the beginning of this century. Despite the changes, our guests still can feel the privacy and comforts of home in each corner of the hotel. The four original buildings host 23 newly designed rooms and are surrounded by a green and cozy garden with seats under large shady trees. The Mandala Boutique Hotel is located in a small side road away from the busy streets of Vientiane, but within walking distance to the city center and just a 15-minute drive from the airport. ... more less
