A beautiful period building that has been denied love and care for too long. We were unexpectedly given a suite which would have been lovely if it had been cleaner and repainted. Just all a bit tired. The staff were untrained with no local knowledge. The breakfast was a farce. Poor location also.

This is a lovely converted house with really nice furnishings and besides your room there are lots of nice public areas to sit in both inside and outside to relax and read from their 'living library '
The staff are very helpful including coming to our aid late at night and helping getting things for us when one of our party was ill.
One thing I would say is they would benefit from having some tourist brochures and maps at the hotel as the tourist information is not too close and is closed a lot of the time.
The hotel is about 15-20 minutes walk from the old area and all the restaurants so you are not 'forced' to eat there. They also have brochures for a restaurant delivery service where you can choose to have food delivered and are very helpful by providing you with plates and cutlery and glasses.
The English of the staff was fine if you're patient and keep things simple- we did witness a guest berating the desk staff quite unnecessarily- chill folks you're in a country trying hard but without the benefit of years of education and tourism

Room tip: Each room is unique in size so you may want to ask the m2 in advance

Indeed a lovely review of our hotel. We really appreciate your kind words and the time you've spent doing this. Again, thank you very much for staying with us. The next time you visit Vientiane with your family/friends, hope to see you again.

We stayed at Mandala for our last night in Laos having. The hotel is a converted house & was very quiet as its away from the restaurants & bars near the river.

Our room was spacious and well appointed.

The location is not convenient for walking to restaurants & bars, it's about 20 min walk.

We stayed on NYE and the restaurant attached Blu seemed to be closed.

They provide an airport transfer service at a cost of 120,000 kip. We booked a local taxi to pick us up for 60,000 kip.

A really lovely quiet hotel, a bit away from the hustle & bustle of Vientiane.

Hotel is exactly as advertised but the location forces you to eat at their restaurant "Blu". Just spent a night sick as a dog from their food. High priced French imitation and clearly no turnover. I thought I was just eating early as there were just two other customers...wrong!!! The locals know to avoid this place!
