Best Western Vientiane Hotel

The Best Western Vientiane was a last minute find. Not having booked a hotel before arriving i was pointed towards Rue Francois Ngin street which had a good choice of cafes to get a drink and use their wifi to find a hotel. The Best Western is on this street and offered a great deal per night with free internet access and complimentary breakfast so after checking out the room this was my choice for the next five nights.

I was given a room on the fourth floor with a balcony looking down onto the street below. The room was very spacious and well appointed. Air conditioned of course which worked very well and the room also has a large bathroom. The bed was comfortable and made it easy to get a good nights sleep.

The service at the hotel was great. All of the staff were very willing to help with anything i needed and apart from sometimes coming up against a language barrier, all of my needs were met with a smile. The breakfast was average and is the only thing that is any kind of drawback with the hotel. But there are so many places to eat on the doorstep, all of which are so cheap it really didn't cause an issue.

The location couldn't have been any better. The street the hotel is on has a fantastic selection of cafe's and restaurants to choose from including Turkish, Italian, French and more. The Turkish restaurant was a favourite as was the Sinouk cafe at the end of the street nearest the river. There is also a French style baker on the street which has the best croissants i have ever had! You won't be short of great places to eat and drink on Rue Francois. The night markets next to the Mekong River are just a short walk away as well and definitely worth a visit.

The Best Western turned out to be a great choice and i would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the street below. The rooms at the rear of the hotel look out over other bu...

This place was in a good location, we could walk everywhere. Room was clean and functional, tv, fridge etc. Breakfast was a disappointment, just a bit lame. Though the hotel is located in the hub of cafes etc it was surprisingly quiet and we had a balcony over the street. Big Negative, INTERNET WAS USELESS, for a hotel costing AUD$100 a night, I expected more. I had to go to the coffee shop over the road to get half decent wifi.

The room is large, flat screen TV with satellite, clean, and good A/C. The front desk is always on duty and alert, very safe. The location is great for travel. Free breakfast both Western and Asian style that is very good.

Room Tip: Don't use the tuk-tuk drivers outside the hotel because they are overpriced. Walk out to the st...

We checked in at BEST WESTERN Vientiane Hotel because we were on a budget and we didn`t want to spend too much money on a hotel. We saw that this place was very affordable, and I`m very happy that we decided to stay here. I liked the fact that it was situated on a few minutes of walking distance of Mekong River, and that the area around it was quite calm and peaceful. I must admit that the settings of this hotel are not outstanding, but overall it was a nice, comfortable stay. I would recommend this hotel if you`re looking for a cute place to stay in, and not pay a lot of money for it.

This place is better than most hotels, but not pretentious.

The location is ideal, near retaurants, local stores and restaurants.

I was suprised to see this quality of hotel at the "right" end of this Street.

Stayed here nights. The hotel is in an area with a bunch of backpacker hotels, and there are a number of convenient eating places nearby. The amenities are not bad in the context of Laos. I would not expect anything fancy, but the staff are courteous and friendly.

I stayed at this hotel for business. I'd recommend it even though I picked up a stomach bug from having lunch there. The hotel has good facilities a smallish but comfortable conference room. The staff were helpful when they were able to understand my accent. Excellent location, not too far from the Mekong river and the night market.
