I spent 3 night here recently. It's in the process of reinventing itself as "Lani's house by the ponds". The website describes a high-end guesthouse and boutique rooms – the pictures back this up. Unfortunately, the reality on the ground is very different – there’s some refurbishment taking place, we clearly didn’t get a refurbed room (despite seemingly being the only guests!) Out room was well-sized and clean enough, but very old-fashioned and in need of work. The bathroom was ugly. The staff were OK and friendly enough and the wifi was good. Breakfast was perfunctory – eggs, some bread, juice, fresh mango and tea or coffee. It was also noisier than expected being set back from the road – mostly from the building work taking place. We expected more given the price we paid (given it’s low season) – indeed, the final straw was trying to charge us 8500kip per $1 when we checked out despite everywhere else in Laos charging 8000! There are better, cheaper places nearby. Not recommended under the circumstances.
