“Good value, central hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 January 2010

Good hotel, and enjoyed our stay here. The staff were always smiling and willing to help. Internet was down for almost our entire stay. Also be aware that there is major construction work taking place in the adjacent building, so if you have an even numbered room you will hear the full force of this from 7.30am onwards.
We had a VIP room which costs an extra $15 a night; probably not worth the extra.

I and my mother stayed here at the middle of December 2009. It's $45 per night including breakfast. The room was nice, clean and large. The HWS, A/C, TV, etc.. was fine. Everything was great.

The only negative point for me was the breakfast which they included in the price. The baguette was so tough and the omelet was so salty. Besides the breakfast is all good!

We´ve been here for 2 nights in Nov 2009.
The Rooms are very clean and comfortable, with the best beds on our Laos-Trip.
Location is good, close to the Mekong and walking distance to the Morning market. There are many restaurants in this area.
Only negative point is that Restaurant staff at hotel is not very helpful: I wanted my dish fried well done - not medium raw. After claiming that it was to raw I got the answer that they have a very good cook and this is a good dish... and they refused to fry it again... I did not discuss and just sent it back without touching it.

Beside of that my stay was very good !

We stayed at Chanthapanya Hotel for two days. We were very happy with the room & service provided. We were given a room on Level 3. It given was very clean and comfortable.

The dining area is rather small, yet it felt homely with the ever smiling and helpful staff. You should try the Laotian noodles served by them. We had that for breakfast and it was superb. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They took the trouble to help us order our food for dinner as language was indeed a problem for us there.

We think we would like to recommend this hotel !!!! Have a nice travel in Laos !

Stayed here only one night after entering the country by crossing the Friendship Bridge. We didn't book in advance, but they had availability and we could use the room from the moment we arrived at about 11am. We payed 45 usd for one night.
The room was nice with a fridge, tv, airco and a nice bathroom. We had no problem at all with the hot water.
The location of the hotel is very central, breakfast was nice and staff speaks English very well. In the lobby there is a computer with free internet.
Actually, everything was ok in here, except from the bustrip to Vang Vieng we booked through the hotellobby. It costed 70.000 kip, which is twice the price you pay at the busstation, but we were hoping for a nice bus and thought it was convienient to book at the hotel. The ticket included a pick up from the hotel, which came too late, drove us around the entire town to pick up other travellers end then ended up to bring us to a spot right opposite our hotel where the bus itself was parked... When arriving in Vang Vieng, this bus didn't bring us to the busstation, but to a hotel with the same name as the buscompany, out of town.

Stayed here on my way out of Laos having already stayed at the Lao Orchid earlier on. Had i not stayed there i would probably be giving this hotel a much better review. To be honest it was a good hotel but when compared to the other it was a little further out, little bit more expensive and all in all not quite as nice (probably due to the fact it wasnt as small as the LO). If the LO is booked up then would definitely recommend it, if it isnt then stay there instead.
