I have stayed in 4 rooms, three of which were recently decorated and looked quite chintzy! The hotel is not fabulous, shabby in places but the plumbing worked - plenty of hot water, the bed was comfortable and after some fiddling about the TV works with loads of channels. The walls are not particularly sound proof but I have not been in a hotel in Mongolia yet which is.
The location is great - a quick walk from the state department store, some good restaurants and places to drink. The hotel has a great piano bar which has a balcony you can drink on, and is a good way to spend an afternoon. There is also a coffee shop. All rooms, bars and coffee shop have good wifi which is really helpful. Hotel staff also helped to arrange taxis.
Breakfast is nothing to write home about, but Mongolia is not known for its croissants so you don't come here for breakfast! Served eggs and hot instant coffee - not bad when its cold outside!
