There is plenty of action, the square is splendid. Stand and move around in a circle, take in the fountain, the magnificent buildings that surround it, the park, the people pouring into the Parliament House. Great for people watching

Where else can you go to get your bearings in a new city and get your photo taken in front of Chingiss Khaan's statue?

Huge square, often something interesting going on. Frequently has shows, exhibitions, fairs, etc. In good weather, kids use for biking and skating. The Sukhbaatar monument in the center is nice and the big Chinggis Khan statue at the front of the Government Palace to the North is impressive.

One of the unique thing to see when visit UB. To take a photo in front of GK or the Sukhbaatar statue, that is al. The surrounding building around the place are from the soviet time and rich, specially the opera and theater, it looks strange compared to the new and modern building like the blue sky hotel in front.

It's a huge square where the statue of their national hero can be found in the middle. The place is beautiful in the morning and wonderful in the evening, as the buildings are surrounded by awesome lights that blend well into the evening. There are always many people (even late at night) so make sure you take care of your belongings. In the morning, you can get inside Grand Khural and enter the museum. Otherwise, the whole place is surrounded by just about anything you can think of.

Tip: if you go near Sukhbaatar's statue, you'd find a small circle with a star inside which is actually the absolute center of Ulaanbaatar...the heart of the city.
