“It delivered what we needed”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Stayed here on three separate occasions during our three week tour of Mongolia and it all worked perfectly not least because while we were away on tour they looked after our luggage in a very safe environment. Three visits meant three different rooms and there is no doubt that they are all a bit tired and dated and in need of some investment. That said they are very large, clean and with added extras of free toiletries, kettle with tea & coffee, bottled water, fridge, cable TV and free wi-fi. Good shower, daily change of linen and comfortable bed. The location is absolutely perfect being within a minute of Sukhbaatar Square, a great supermarket, ATM’s and 10 minute walk to the State Department store. You do trade that location with some street noise but nothing that disturbed us too much.
Breakfast oddly didn’t start until 8am and was a little chaotic mainly due to a lack of training of the staff. But the food was excellent – wide variety - and something for all. The reception staff all spoke English and were very willing to help with all our requests … even to the point of helping us get some prints for free They can store your valuables in a safe. Within the hotel is an excellent independent Indian restaurant which is good value for good quality food and very convenient if you’re just too tired to go out.
Given we were in UB/Mongolia/during Nadaam – highly recommended

Stayed here- 4nights; big rooms and good reception- staff; made all efforts to make it comfortable stay.. They speak good english so never had problems with directions; there;s a bank just outside this hotel so money exchange is easy. Also near supermarket; hotel blue sky and ample choice of restaurants. Beware of Delhi Darbar restaurant (indian) though- its not worth in any which way although i could see several local people; i do not think any Indian would like to go there.. Hotel restaurant on 2nd floor is better although little expensive. Lighting in room- on evening is very dull and strenous to eyes; Dish tv has good channel choice and easy to operate;

Room Tip: stayed at 4th floor; but honking and cars- noises and cars continue disturbing; Traffic jams are com...

Rooms are very big and clean. Free wifi and cable TV. Bathroom a bit old but functional. Breakfast not great, but if you've been travelling in rural Mongolia it will probably seem pretty good. Location great - near restaurants and bars and the main square. 10 min walk to the state department store. Recommended.

I visit Ulaanbaatar a lot, and have stayed in many hotels. This is a good one. Located very centrally (just behind Sukhbaatar Sq) and yet set back from the street so is usually quiet (noisy drunken revelers passing by on the street, however small that street is, can't really be avoided in UB). The room décor leaves something to be desired - slightly odd, mismatched furniture and furnishings, with a heavy emphasis on nylon and satin. But the room was big, clean, light, well-equipped and comfortable, so that isn't really a major complaint. Restaurant choice in the hotel includes a very good Indian restaurant, and the hotel "normal" restaurant served perfectly OK breakfast. Free wifi which worked fine. Staff quite friendly and helpful, with good English. And a good price - around $80 bed and breakfast. I'd go back - for the price, location and relative quality, this is better than many other UB hotels.

Visited this hotel at the beginning and end of a horseback tour in rural mongolia. The hotel was clean but hot water service was a bit sporadic. We finally figured out that you need to ask for the hot water to be turned on. All in all a comfortable and quiet hotel and very well located just steps away from the giant Chinggis Khan statue in the big central square.

I stayed here for 5 nights in September 2013. The front office staff was good and spoke English well. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable. There were US electrical outlets, a good selection of channels on cable TV and generally good wifi. The breakfast was standard. The Indian restaurant was very good. Overall, a comfortable place for a short the week.
