It is a wonderful place. You can see the whole of Islamabad & Rawalpindi from there. A lot of Pakistan's history has been reflected in the writings on the walls. Perfect place to take children for an outing.

The day view is great you can see skyline of the city. But if you have leisure of time also visit at night because it is lighted.

If you are a foreigner (especially with blond hair and blue/green/grey eyes), be prepared that people will be wishing to take a picture with you. Especially teenage girls. If men ask for the same, it is strongly recommended to say a firm (yet, friendly) NO.

This monument stands alone in the middle of the intersection of a couple of the roadways. There aren't any proper guides or tourist help if one was to find out more about this building.

Thee best time to visit Pakistan monument is at sunset. We arrived there just before sunset and stayed there till it was quite dark. The entrance fee is Rs. 20 per head, which is nominal. There is a snack shop as well. Before you enter you have to go through a security check for your bags. The museum is just near the entrance. You can get a 360 panaromic view of Islamabad city which is quite mesmerizing. All big landmarks can be seen clearly like the centaurus mall, Faisal Masjid, Pak Saudi Bank etc. There is a prayer area too but just for males. The authorities should make arrangements for females prayer as well, which was lagging. I had to pray in the parking lot with a borrowed prayer mat!
