Silvikris Villa is located in a quiet suburban neighbourhood which gives it a very homely non-touristy feel. The villa is absolutely beautiful, spacious and clean. Service was excellent. We were given a very big bedroom with a huge bathroom. It felt like a 5 star hotel. The villa is only located about 15 mins from Maharagama bus station and there are a lot of eateries within walking distance. There is also free wi-fi in the villa with good signal strength. Overall we loved this place and would definitely return. Great little place away from the hustle and bustle of the city and yet very accessible and definitely great value for money. Highly recommended!

After a hectic day in Colombo, Silvikris Villas is a welcome respite. It is located south of the city, about a 25 min bus ride into the center area, You catch Bus 138 about a 5 min walk away. There are lots of buses available and the ride is fascinating in its own right. Jenil and Kushantha are extremely helpful, with maps and information for places to see in Colombo and the rest of Sri Lanka. There is a small restaurant serving delicious Sri Lanka dishes including string hoppers and rice and curry dish. Jenil can give you directions for the 5min walk to the restaurant. Silvikris Villas was our first stop in Sri Lanka and was a great way to begin our tour of this beautiful and friendly country.

We stayed here for one night and we had booked through Booking.com. Local tuktuk drivers and taxi drivers had no idea where to find this place and it took a while to get here. On arrival everything seemed allright, spacious room, big balcony, television with DVD, busstop nearby (after closer investigation), only breakfast was overpriced. Later we found an ants nest in the towels which invested our entire bathroom, also some drinking glasses broke due to poor judgement of the staff, it took them an hour to clean it and they wanted us to pay for it.. The air-con was leaking as well. Also because of the ants they promised a discount. They did so by claiming to booking.com that we were a no show and the booking.com fee would be our discount. When we said we didn't agree to these terms and we wanted to contact booking.com, the friendliness disappeared and we were no longer welcome (after paying the bill of course). It was a bad ending to an otherwise amazing stay in Sri Lanka.

If you want a bit of piece and quiet from the manic streets of Colombo this is the place for you. Very clean, good for value rooms and great service. The only downside is that it is quite far out from the centre of Colombo which really isn't a bad thing!

Excellent communication by Jenil prior to our arrival who confirmed our airport transfer. The driver was waiting with a signboard in the arrivals and whisked us to Silvikris Villa. In the middle of the afternoon it took us roughly and hour and a half to reach the villa.

We were very warmly welcomed by Jenil on arrival, who provided us with drinks and showed us to our rooms.

My colleague was provided an upstairs room with a balcony and I was provided a room downstairs without and was advised I could move up the following night, but I declined as the room was perfectly acceptable.

The rooms are quite large, comfortable beds and a provided with a few bottles of a water and some soft drinks available for purchase in the mini bar. The showers were quite effective.
Throughout our stay Jenil was excellent in accommodating all of our needs, taking the time to advise us, book taxis and research addresses for where we needed to go.

The negative aspects are that the rooms are a little tired and could do with a slight deep clean, they also don’t appear to make up the beds/clean up on a daily basis. The rooms are also a little dark. The villa in its self is quite difficult to find, with the business card most taxis can bring you to the locality, but cannot find the exact street so will either end up calling Jenil or you just have to take in your surroundings well and identify a few landmarks.

The hotel is around 200 metres from the main road along some backstreets in a pleasant and seemingly very safe suburb.

You have a choice of restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance including all the fast food chains and pizza etc in addition to local cafes.

You can get into central Columbo in about 20 minutes for approximately 250-300 rupees on the meter.

Overall I’d say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was nice to be more immersed in the culture and located away from a large sterile hotel. I’d describe the villa as being a sort of cross between a 3 star boutique hotel and a bed & breakfast. I would certainly consider returning as its excellent value for money.

Clean rooms and very comfortable beds.

Outstanding Service: Jinsin was the only staff available and attending to us and all the other guests in the villa during our stay. He was extremely polite, helpful and catered to our several different requests enthusiastically. At the end of our stay we tried to reward him with a generous tip however he refused to accept and only asked for a good review.

Location: After 7days of rice and curry for lunch and dinner all over Sri Lanka, we were thrilled to reach Colombo to find that we were walking distance from Dominos Pizza, McDonalds, cafes!

They had a Movie Library with a great selection! The stay was far better than our expectations and excellent value for money.

I have just recently spent a week at Silvikris Villa and have found it to offer exemplary services, genuinely friendly and helpful staff with beautiful, serene surroundings. The rooms were clean and very well priced.

I enquired about the half day rates, and these are offered to cater to local holiday/ business makers (ie, for weddings and those not living within Colombo) so it's highly doubtful anything 'seedy' is going on here! Also, they want to cater for those leaving for flights after check out (12pm) so they offer this rather than charging full day rates... if that's not service, I don't know what is:D

I found the location ideal as I was able to walk to local restaurants, catch buses / tuk tuks and shop from here. Plus the 138 bus was a two minute walk away (and at 30 rupees or so, it was a really cheap means of transport to the city centre).

Overall, really impressive and ridiculously cheap for the surroundings and service!

Room Tip: Be sure to try and secure a room with a balcony for a lovely view to wake up to:) Also, just make su...
