The Kingsbury was to be a treat, our last two nights in Sri Lanka.OMG,my daughter and I were left waiting in the Lobby for an hour, after a long hot drive from Kandy. We were then told the room I had booked and paid for Six weeks prior would not be ready until 6pm,they tried to offer another room which on site we refused. The staff were very busy fawing over Bridal parties, and Saudi clients. After me becoming really annoyed, magic they found us our room. This all took 2 hours.Yes the room was small, the view not at all nice, and not what I requested. We went out for dinner. The next morning at 9.20 we went for breakfast, and I was greeted with " we close at 10am ",charming greeting. The staff swaned about with an air of aloofness, and were very snobby. At approx 11am we realised our fridge was broken, we informed them and went out for the day, on our return at 4.30pm.no cold drinks,no new fridge, 4 calls to the lobby later, and a lot of annoyance we got a fridge at 7pm.I forfieted that second nights payment and happily Wwent back to the Ramada, where we spnt our first night, they were thrilled to have us back, and said they got many complaints re The Kingsbury. They have an over rated opinion of them selves.and on checking out there was no asking why ?.Just let you all know we stayed at Decco on 44,Cinnamon Cital,Hotel Sigiriya,Hotel Elephant Bay, to name a few, and they were all stunning, beautiful staff. But the Ramada saved us.They did not get the fact that I am part Srilankian,my Australian accent threw them, We are an easy going, relaxed pair of Aussies, and loved every minute of Sri.But that experience was utter rubbish,Go the Ramada. My name is Ms McNaughton, just in case the Kingsbury are reading this, pick up your game.
