The Bodhisattva statue was the main reason I visited the museum. Just for that it is worth visiting. It is a very good collection of artifacts from Sri Lanka's history. The museum even has the last Kandyan king's throne. A large statue of the Buddha welcomes one to the museum--not a good idea to take photos of yourself in front of it. And for goodness' sake do not kiss it!
