We missed our first night here as our flight was delayed and we got to the hotel at 5:30am instead of 4:00pm the day before. We had enough time for a 30min snooze, shower and breakfast before our 7hr train ride. It’s a lovely little secluded hotel in the centre of Columbo which makes you feel you are surrounded by greenery. The breakfast was delicious, I had the homemade granola and yogurt. Only negative was that the room smelt a bit damp but this seemed to be a theme on the rest of our trip.

Though not a very impressive approach to the property, comfortable well maintained room, friendly staff and a lovely sumptuous breakfast served at the villa restaurant. Fairly close to the city centre.

Not the first time in this small jewel in Colombo. Its really difficult to find a reasonable priced nice hotel in Colombo and this is one of the few. The best room by far is the Garden suite. Lovely room with lots of privacy, an own little terrace and noise proof, probably what I loved most in the room was the shower.

The food it very nice and tasty, huge portions. Breakfast is also very good, even though a bit different choices would be nice, other than toast bread, fruits and eggs (or spicy Sri Lankan alternative). But also the food they had for breakfast was very nice. In genera the terrace where you can dine or have a tea, was very cozy and almost all the time you would be alone there.

The location is very good and close to everything, but not in walking distance.
Can highly recommend this place, but wish not too many would come, as it is already often booked :) So be fast if you wanna stay here.

I've heard about this genius design mind from Sri Lanka called 'Taru' but never really managed to stay at any of the properties designed by her. For the firstime, I stayed at this property along with my son, and we absolutely enjoyed it.

Beautifully crafted hotel, every aspect is well designed. Very artistic and creative. Beautiful evenings and nights.

This is truly a magnificent place to stay at, and this hotel can become the best part of any holiday, the highlight.

Staff are good. But a bit slow and some of them slightly lethargic. It's probably common amongst small boutique hotels, maybe it's a good thing from another travellers perspective. So i shouldn't be judging.

TARU in my opinion is one of the greatest design minds in SL, no doubt.

I recommend it 100%.

Very stylish and comfortable. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely rooms. Good breakfast. The hotel is a short walk from Galle face green, restaurants and shops. They can get a tuck tuck quickly if you need one to go a bit further. Have stayed twice and highly recommend this hotel.
