This monument called "Unabhagigkeitsdenkmal" otherwise commonly known as the Independence Monument resembles a Plunger. The details of the area has to be observed. First you'll come across a couple of guards that will want a bribe...don't pay it even if you have a photo with them. The marble brass building is not of a plunger yet of a Turkmen Tent with all the statues of men that were a part of Turkmen history elaborately displayed brass statues around the water fountains surrounding the building. You will see the Turkmenistan Academy of Sciences Building at the end of the park done in marble as well. Then of course the Statue of Bronze of the Late President Saparmarat "Turkmenbashi"Niyazov that was former statue on the Arch of Neutrality which it rotated according to the sun.The Marble buildings surrounding the area are amazing.Amust see in Ashgabat.
