Review of Tashkent TV tower

Tashkent TV tower
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Not much to see really. It is a TV tower. Though it's status does enhance a bit since it is not allowed to take pictures of it. There is a restaurant in the tower and the view is supposed to be good. I did not go there as the entrance fee had increased by 10 times and it was quite steep.

A tourist attraction. But could not climb up as we didnot possess Passport at that point of time and it is required for an entry.Had photos from outside. It is matter of satisaction that the tallest was built .Great work.

15 USD per person takes you up to get a fabulous view of nearly the whole city of Tashkent. Please note you are NOT allowed to take up any camera or any video camera. If you are satisfied with the shots from your mobile, then go up.

the best was the old, red-plastic deco of the bar and the ceiling
the view is poor, not much to see, really,
its a big hassle to make your way in, no cameras, lots of checks, passport required, as the feeling is that the TV tower is target Nr 1 of any ever to happen Islamic terrorist attack.
The State is schizophrenic re Islamic attacks and you need to understand this, when you go, then its an ok attraction.

The view is very nice, but not worth the $15 admission for foreign citizens. Getting a ticket can be chaotic and time-consuming, bags must be left in locker and and there is a lot of paperwork to be done before a thorough security screening. Cannot take cameras, which seems to be a new development.

There is a bit of a display inside on other tall towers, which is quite interesting but still does not justify admission price.
