It was a magnificent experience to touch to the brainchild of famous Mark Weil who was tragically murdered in 2007. We attended Ilkhom Theatre on March 27 - in WORLD THEATER DAY which was really symbolic. The performance "Tortilla flat" was based on the novel of John Steinbeck, It was on of the oldest performances of Ilkhom and next year it is going to celebrate the 20-th anniversary. Together with my friend from Germany Norbert we were sitting at the first row and had an opportunity to enjoy the art completely. The actors were playing imressively. Especially Olga Volodina performing the part of Mrs. Morales. Incredible! Everyone was singing, dancing and making us believe in all this running at the stage. Live music. Live performance! Talented young actors! Great dramaturgic concept! It is really worth to be seen and to be felt! The interior of the theater is alos extremely authentic. There are some exhibitions taking part in the hall. And the stage decorations are very special. It is the best modern theater I've ever been in.
Do not miss ILKHOM when being in Tashkent.
