Miran International Hotel
Ranked #6 of 40 Hotels in Tashkent
Reviewed 4 July 2014

I have visited Tashkent several times and stayed only in 5 star hotels. So I can with proud say that The Miran International Hotel is probably the best mainland hotel I have experienced. As i stay in hotels a lot during my business trips, I naturally always look at how my experience could be better next time, but I couldn't fault The Miran International Hotel. It deserves his high ranking and you will only know why, once you stay and meet Mr. Ganesh (The General Manager) and his team. Upon arrival to the hotel, I was greeted by the Front Office team like a royalty and as soon as I stepped out of my car. I was fortunate to be allocated a corner room with a lot of daylight and nice view. This hotel has it all in the details and did not cut any corners when it comes to the furniture and equipment in the room from the HD TV, right through to the marble and high luxury carpet. It really exceeded our expectations. The Miran International Hotel will be always my only destination with visiting Tashkent for business.

Very clean, comfortable hotel, with lots of amenities. Staff is the major plus of Miran, as they are really helpful and available 24 hours to assist guests. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Breakfast is excellent. WIFI is really good, unlike other Hotels in Tashkent, and works everywhere in the Hotel, except in the fitness and pool area, as it is underground.
Tashkent is really hot in summer, so expect everywhere a strong A/C. I preferred to switch it off and leave the small window in the full-glazed wall open during the night.
I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a safe area, and close to all amenities. Nearby there are bars, a nice Turkish restaurant and a supermarket open 7 days from 8 to 1 am! Taxis in Tashkent are very cheap, it is recommended to ask the hotel to call one, as it maybe difficult to catch one in the street if one does not speak any Russian.

Room Tip: In summer it is better to ask rooms that are not in the full-sun side.

Room is just huge and rather clean! This hotel is probably the only place, which accepts Mastercard in Tashkent. Staff was very helpful. You have to wait for taxis to arrive as reception first needs to call a taxi company and there are no taxis outside. In Uzbekistan everything is a bit "relaxed", so have some patience in Tashkent. Restaurant is almost always empty, but food is good, though very expensive. Breakfast has a big variety to choose from. There are many groups here and when they arrive you have to wait until elevators are available. Overall, this is a very nice hotel, nothing extra, but a safe bet.

Stayed with My group of 24 booked 13 rooms but was very disappointed , I had requested double rooms but was allocated a twin room , called the reception desk and the gentleman was very helpful and changed my room after waiting for an hour to my disappointment the room was downgraded and all that had been done was place the beds together which could have been done with the previous room, the rooms were clean and very large & cosmetic but the beds are very uncomfortable , I slept on the floor as the mattress springs were worn out & the bed most uncomfortable .I called on the front desk early the morning and requested that a double bed room be given, they were very sorry and said that I will be given a room as soon as one is available , my friends also complained to me that they were given twin beds instead of double and their beds were very uncomfortable., I asked the reception to convey my complain to their manager & Director to inspect the rooms & try sleeping on them & I'm certain they will change all the mattresses , it is a pity as this is supposedly a business hotel with five star rating and it falls really short on comfort . The Breakfast is very good and the staff were friendly and most helpful.

Room Tip: Make certain that you get a room that you requested and most rooms are well situated

We stayed one night after a trip in from Kazakhstan. The rooms are enormous and provide plenty of room for a family of four to share a twin bed room. The restaurant was a bit slow on service but nothing unexpected given other travel in the region. Not much time to explore the rest of the hotel but the access to main streets by a quick walk can be had. I recommend this hotel for visitors and make sure you allocate enough time for missed orders and delays when eating lunch or dinner in the restaurant. The breakfast was quite nice and buffet style so no waiting required.

Stayed here twice as part of a group tour of Uzbekistan. The standard of rooms is very good and they are huge. The gas masks "in case of fire" are a slightly bizarre touch and they had difficulty serving an early breakfast for our group (ran out of coffee and suggested we pay for some!). All in all its a good standard and the staff welcoming with reasonable english.

first of all good thing: rooms are big. ok.
i would NOT recommend the hotel to potential guests. personal experience
- the staff can wake you up after midnight to bring what you asked, without warning by the phone call, if you do not open the door, they start ringing like if there was a fire in the building
- we were promised an early entry and after few days the manager told me it was not possible that someone promises such a thing . how come?
- no hairdresser at 5 star hotel???
- no dry cleaning
- there s a box near the tv that contains some masks to put on in case of smoke etc.. that's terrifying
- a wake up call was asked from the staff, as a result nobody called saying "sorry"
