“Great for photography”
Reviewed 31 May 2014 via mobile

There are many soviet trains which makes it an excellent place for photo taking. It costs 4000som for each person with no additional fee for taking photos. It is not difficult to go, just near the train station and 5 minutes away from metro station.

“A sneak view of the soviet era trains”
Reviewed 6 July 2013

I visited the museum, which is near the main train station, last year, and really enjoyed seeing these wagons and locomotives that we see in old soviet movies. A good afternoon was spent there.

“A fantastic collection of old trains”
Reviewed 8 June 2013

This open-air museum is home to an impressive collection of old trains, with some wonderful examples of old Russian and Soviet steam engines. You can climb up on most of them and into the driver's cab, though watch out for holes in the floor. Unfortunately there is no signing to tell you anything about them, though they do have a date of manufacture. There is supposed to be a carriage housing a display about the trains and the history of rail in the region, but it was closed when I visited. I'm no train buff, but it was well worth a visit. The museum is only a couple of minutes' walk from the central station in Tashkent.
