It took me a while to finally pick a hotel in Istanbul for our 4 night stay and we was not disappointed to pick this hotel. First of all, the location is great, a block from the Four Seasons, 5 minute walk to Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi and Sultanahmet Tram stop. The street where the hotel is located is lively, safe and full of nice cafe and restaurants, no need to wander around finding food elsewhere.

The hotel is a small hotel with 2-4 rooms each floor in the 5 floors building. Half of the rooms face the street in front while another half face the back street with less view. The roof top offers view of the Bosphorus. The room is large, the bedding is very comfortable with 5 pillows, small sofa, writing desk. The bathroom is large with tub and heating towel rack. There is also a balcony in some room.

Sometimes the hotel can be a bit noisy when there are lots of kids running on the corridor but I think that happens everywhere.

The service is impeccable, hard to beat. The staff are always the same face so after a few days of staying there, you feel like home. They are friendly, honest and helpful.

The breakfast was great with a lot of variety and you can order hot egg dishes on top.

The hamam is also great with extra service for massage but the best I had on this trip (of 12 days and did several hamam with extra service.)

I would stay here again and again.

Room Tip: All rooms have their own advantage. If you need large room that can accommodate 4 beds comfortably...

I am just coming back from this friendly hotel. The stuff is really very good. Since I was travelling alone, they try to give the best advices and nice places to go. It is a very clean, the Turkish Bath is just wonderful, as well as the massage. The Gym room is new and provide everything you need. They even bring to you a bottle of cold water. Since I am vegetarian, they take carry about my preferences and made very tasteful meals. The wine is good. It is close to the most important sites and they recommend the best tours and shows, arranging also the pick up and drop off. I hope to be back soon and I definitely recommend this cute and cozy hotel.

Room Tip: They will give to you a room the way you ask for.

I found the staff here very helpful and friendly...one of the nicest I came across in so many hotels i stayed elsewhere. The location of this hotel is great...right smack in the middle of old town city and lots of resturants along the street.

My only dissapointment would be that while it has the stated facilities, it is not as just not as Grand and Premier as one would expect of a typical 5 star hotel , but to be fair to the hotel, I read that the '5 star standard' in Istanbul varies from elsewhere. Don't expect a typical 5 star style Suite and Spa Hotel. I would give it 3.5 - 4 stars with great location and very helpful staff so if you consider this as a 3.5 - 4 star hotel when booking and you are happy with the room rates, then you certainly won't be dissapointed.

On my second trip to Istanbul, I wanted to be in the center of the historic district of Sultanahmet. I chose the Best Western Premier Regency Suites mostly because of the reviews only (BTW, the other Best Western Acropol is right down the street). I got a great deal on a junior queen suite, with one day free, so it amounted to the equivalent of 110 euros a night for five nights. Breakfast (which included omelets to order) was large and free. Wifi was also free. Although I read several comments about problems with connectivity, and even the porter who brought my luggage to my room said 'be patient', I experienced no problems whatsoever.

The staff is superb. They speak English, are extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very clean and nice. I did not take advantage of the free Turkish baths and sauna.

I highly recommend this hotel. You are right around the street from the Blue Mosque and two blocks the other way to Hagia Sophia.

Room Tip: Choose a suite based on what I've read from other travelers. My room faced away from the street...

I suggest this small and nice hotel to stay in Istanbul.
Walking distance from major attractions, clean, takes care of every detail.
The Restaurant of the hotel is really good and the food quality excellent and it is cheaper than the other restuarants in the area were you enter and you never know how much you will be paying although prices are shown at the entrance you can pay one day an amount and the next day it is doubled.
Most of the people working in this hotel are really professional and very kind, always trying to help you

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to the Istanbul Art De Vivre!Located at he heart of Istanbul between Europe and Asia, the GLK PREMIER Regency Suites Hotel & Spa commands an extensive view of a relatively small area that has nonetheless witnessed 2000 years of the history of some of the richest civilisations humanity has ever known: Ancient, Greece the Roman Empire, The Byzantine Empire and the Ottoman Empire! It is only a few steps from the Blue Mosque, Saint Sophie and Topkapi Palace. The hotel, a lovely mansion built in 1905, is a listed historic monument today. The elegance of its origin is still amply visible in the neo-classical moulding on the facade and the solid wood or beige Bursa granite floors. Numerous details and features in the house bear witness to a world of such sophistication that its sultans are portrayed holding a flower. The hotel's rugs, like the motifs on the walls, seem to have stepped straight out of the Topkapi Palace. As century old traditions require, the hammam of the GLK PREMIER Regency Suites Hotel & Spa features a suite of three rooms with different functions: hot room, warm room and cool room. The hotel is equally dedicated to maintaining state-of-the-art international hotel standards, which rather than detracting from its historic past, leave its guests free to savour and appreciate this heritage. In this way, the GLK PREMIER Regency Suites Hotel & Spa distils the quintessence of Istanbul's distinctive lifestyle, particularly from its 16 suites:the dome of the Blue Mosque surrounded by six slender minarets, the monotonous chant of the muezzin, the enchanting hush that reigns over the city in the morning, the sweetly scented Topkapi Park, the view of Bosphorous or the Marmara Sea on which the Prince's Islands seem almost to float or its mouth-watering exotic cuisine, etc. The justly dubbed 'Golden Horn', which the hotel overlooks, sumptuously sums up the inexhaustible wealth of this matchless location. ... more   less
