We found this hotel to be very friendly and helpfull from the second we arrived, taking us through all the hotel amenaties and showing us around the spa. Our room was just as advertised with a small suit, jacuzzi bath and balcony with a sea view, although bear in mind that rooms at the back of the hotel do not have such views. The hotel is built to a very good standard, with very nice rooms, good facilities and pleasant restaurant, with a sauna that is very usefull after a long day walking in cold February temperatures. The hotel is also ideally locate for many of the main attractions of the old town, with restaurants and bazars also in walking distance. A very pleasant hotel.

If you happen to be in Istanbul during the colder period of the year, the spa facilities of this hotel are just what you need after a day sightseeing. The very friendly staff provided great service and the location is just perfect for the major sights. Rooms are clean and comfortable (we did not have a seaview but because of the bad weather it didn't make a difference to us). Very good restaurant next door (left hand side).

From the moment we arrived we were truly comfortable and looked after in this fabulous hotel. Our room was spotless and spacious, with a great view of the Bosphorus. The staff could not have been more helpful. The location, in a lovely little street a stone's throw from the Blue Mosque, is just perfect. Akbiyik Caddesi has a village feel to it and there are plenty of great restaurants and bars close by. This hotel has been getting top reviews for a good reason.

This rather new hotel is a small but beautiful place to stay, located in one of the best quarters of Istanbul ( around the corner of the Topkapi Palace).
Rooms are decorated in local style and very comforatble, Coffee & tea facilities F.O.C. good beds, good sitting area, although I had a room at the inner court it did not bother me because it was all very nicely decorated with plants and wood. Bathrooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Small bar area were they serve food, including breakfast. Nice terrace in front of the hotel.
One of those hotels were you get real personal service! The four stars are really in place. The Spa is not overwhelming, it is very small. But again staff service is excellent. The street were the hotel is located is a very nice traditional small street, with a lot of nice shops that also include some good Turkish design. And walking through the small streets to the Topkapi Palace gardens is a pleasure.

Within walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, Istanbul Archaeology Museum and pieces of history dating back 8000 years, the Best Western Premier Regency Suites and Spa open opportunities to walk through history and enjoy some of the most amazing sites of Turkey. A short walk to the tram allows you to venture out to the Gallata Tower, the fish market, spice market or the Grand Bazaar. Don't forget to go to see the whirling dervishes perform and view the art exhibits at the Istanbul Modern. The best start for your day begins with an array of fresh fruits, olives, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, cheeses, a variety of breads and eggs made to order. Each time you approach the door prepare for the most gracious staff who offers tea, coffee, other refreshments and the cordial assurance of "Your happiness is our happiness!" The restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious entrees that cause you to look forward to the next meal so that you can try one more of the selections. The hotel offers a fitness area complete with sauna, Turkish bath, exercise equipment and the availability of a massage, manicure and pedicure. After enjoying an evening of sites, sounds and smells, an immaculately clean room with crisp, clean sheets awaits you. If there is anything that you need or have forgotten, the staff is ready and willing to take care of your needs. When it is time to leave, you will feel like you have a new home away from home and good friends who just happen to work at the Best Western Premier Regency Suites and Spa! To the staff, I say "Tesekkur ederim! Thank you!" The trip was much more memorable because of the special treatment I received while staying in their delightful hotel!

In the tiny streets of historic Sultanahmet, a few steps away from Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, this hotel has an extraordinarily friendly staff and is perfect to explore the entire city. We were delighted about every aspect of the hotel, it is small, cozy but the rooms are nice sized and the bathrooms excellent. The extremely nice and knowledgeable front desk staff helped us find a good place to eat, get around on the super-efficient trams, get delicious Baklava - and were also very helpful when the Internet in the whole area broke down and I desperately needed a work-related email.
We could not have been happier and would most certainly stay here again - we recommended it to friends who live in Istanbul and hope that they send friends there. The breakfast was also good and the service terrific. The rooms are a bit dark, but I think that is atmosphere rather than a problem.
Great long weekend, thanks in good part to this hotel and its staff!

We were at the Regency Suites for 5 nights over Xmas. We had earlier asked for early checked in about 9am, after a long 14 hours flight from Singapore. To our pleasant surprise, a room was available and we were invited to have breakfast on check-in day.

We were allocated an "executive suite" facing the street on the 2nd floor. Room was big, charming and clean. However, there are plenty of noise throughout the night and we mentioned this to the receptionist the next day just before breakfast (which was decent, but little variety if you stay for many days).

After breakfast, we were offered a higher room with balcony on the top floor. It was a smaller room, but the balcony was great.

Location wise, being in Sultanahmet, very close to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi and Haghia Sophia.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to the Istanbul Art De Vivre!Located at he heart of Istanbul between Europe and Asia, the GLK PREMIER Regency Suites Hotel & Spa commands an extensive view of a relatively small area that has nonetheless witnessed 2000 years of the history of some of the richest civilisations humanity has ever known: Ancient, Greece the Roman Empire, The Byzantine Empire and the Ottoman Empire! It is only a few steps from the Blue Mosque, Saint Sophie and Topkapi Palace. The hotel, a lovely mansion built in 1905, is a listed historic monument today. The elegance of its origin is still amply visible in the neo-classical moulding on the facade and the solid wood or beige Bursa granite floors. Numerous details and features in the house bear witness to a world of such sophistication that its sultans are portrayed holding a flower. The hotel's rugs, like the motifs on the walls, seem to have stepped straight out of the Topkapi Palace. As century old traditions require, the hammam of the GLK PREMIER Regency Suites Hotel & Spa features a suite of three rooms with different functions: hot room, warm room and cool room. The hotel is equally dedicated to maintaining state-of-the-art international hotel standards, which rather than detracting from its historic past, leave its guests free to savour and appreciate this heritage. In this way, the GLK PREMIER Regency Suites Hotel & Spa distils the quintessence of Istanbul's distinctive lifestyle, particularly from its 16 suites:the dome of the Blue Mosque surrounded by six slender minarets, the monotonous chant of the muezzin, the enchanting hush that reigns over the city in the morning, the sweetly scented Topkapi Park, the view of Bosphorous or the Marmara Sea on which the Prince's Islands seem almost to float or its mouth-watering exotic cuisine, etc. The justly dubbed 'Golden Horn', which the hotel overlooks, sumptuously sums up the inexhaustible wealth of this matchless location. ... more   less
