Are there negative stars? We bad experience with this hotel from the start. Regarding the other good reviews, don't believe all. I saw the staff on their laptop there writing reviews for the hotel in their free time. Our own experience, there is NO HEAT in the bathroom. We stayed in February. It was very cold use the toilet or shower! The breakfast is terrible. Most foods are sweet like cakes that have been there for days. If im going to pay high price, please give me some real hot food. Orange juice is charged separately (they dont tell you it's extra when they ask u if u want OJ, they just hand u the bill to sign with the oj. This is not fair.) The staff were very annoying when we ate breakfast because they all just stood there looking at what foods you pick, how much food u take and how you eat. Very annoying. We took a deluxe room and there is no frig or coffee maker in room. if u dont have kitchen, then at least they should have a small coffee maker. The cleaning staff dont know english, turkish or how to read basic signs. We put a Privacy sign on door and the cleaning lady just walked in on us! The local people that live across the street from hotel are nosy and intrusive to ur privacy. we had our curtains open and they kept peeking thru their windows seeing what we do. I'm never, never, never going to stay in this hotel! i wanted to leave early but we already paid for the rooms. They call this Best Point Hotel. It should rather be called Worst Point Hotel to better describe their crummy joint. There are other nicer hotels in this old historic area that are better and cost less. After this bad experience, we went to stay at nearby Erboy a bit north and had a nice stay there to make up for this bad experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has working AC air conditioner and heater. Our first room didnt work.

I stayed here with about 10 of my family and friends for 6 nights, what a great place and staff. Ride was arranged for us from the airport to hotel, staff greeted us every time we walked in or out and offered us complimentary Chai, coffee or apple tea (definitely try the apple tea) every time. By far the best hotel I have ever stayed at in any country. On top of that its a great location, my room had a balcony with a direct sight line to the historic Blue Mosque. Best point is within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar and cheap and easy to use train system. Best hotel staff I've ever encountered... If you're going to Istanbul and want a great location with great service and people its the only choice. Thank you my new friend and owner Fatih. Thank you my new friends and helpful staff Gokhan, Artun, Mustafa and Tugrul. I fell in love with Istanbul, Turkey, the Turkish people and the best point hotel. I will see all you guys again in the near future on my next visit to Istanbul.

I cannot say enough good things about Fatih and his wonderful staff at Best Point in Sultanahment. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us with the utmost care and ensured that we had no issues checking in and getting settled. The apple tea and various drinks they provided anytime we passed through the lobby was great and made us feel at home. Not only were the services great, Fatih and every member of his staff, including Yorkan, Mustafa and Ertan are very kind and friendly people that are great to talk to and get information from as they are all very knowledgeable about everything and anything in Istanbul.

Our room was very clean and very comfortable and had all the amenities you would ever expect. Any requests we had were completed immediately. The mattress was excellent and we got a good night`s sleep after spending hours on our feet in Istanbul every day. The breakfast at Best Point was incredible and had an excellent variety of breakfast foods and drinks, better than the large North American hotel chains.

The location of Best Point is incredible. It`s only a few steps away from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace so it is a great starting point for all the sightseeing in Sultanahmet. It is also very close to the tram station if you want to visit the Asian side of Istanbul such as the Galata Tower and Taksim Square.

As frequent travelers, I have to say that Best Point is the best hotel we have stayed at and the experience my wife and I had there really makes us want to visit Istanbul again very soon.
While in Turkey, we also visited Pamukkale, Ephesus and Antalya and I realised no other hotel compared to Best Point. It is truly the best.

Thank you Fatih, Yorkan, Mustafa, Erkan and everyone else at Best Point for the excellent experience and world-class service and we are sure that on our next visit to Istanbul, we will definitely stay at Best Point and see you very soon again!

Fatih, the owner really makes this place a different experience... I really felt like I was an old friend coming to stay at his hotel - not just him, but his entire staff. And not just with me, we had booked this hotel with a wedding party of about 5-6 rooms and each and everyone of us felt the same way about the hotel. It was a different experience. From the welcome drink (get the fresh orange juice - It's SOOOO good!) to the evening snacks and coffees in the lobby, it's amazing! They go so far out of their way to help us - but the best part is just hanging out and talking to the staff.

One thing that makes this place different than others is Fatih himself who is so helpful and friendly - but he acts like one of the staff - has a regular shift at the front desk and really gets to see and respond to issues from a first hand perspective... I've never seen a hotel owner like him... It really does make staying here an experience on its own.

Location is amazing - 5 minutes to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia... about 15-20 walk to the Grand Bazaar and there is a tram station that is about 7-8 stops away from Taxsim Sqare. We also easily walked to the spice market and back when the weather was good - didn't feel like it took too long.

Some advice, I'd go with the deluxe room if you have a child...we were traveling with a 1 year old and it was an amazing room - and big enough to put the baby cot and give us and the baby enough space to run around. They also gave us a baby chair for feeding which was a huge help.

We left the deluxe room for the 2 bedroom apartment shared with our friends and that was also a nice place also. We had small issues that were dealt with immediately - another thing about the hotel we loved - if there was an issue, someone took care of it right away.

Another piece of advice - Stay in the old town area (Sultanahmet) - it was so nice to walk around and stuff - quite at night - amazing for families.

Highly recommend this hotel - we picked it because of how high it was rated on Trip Adviser and we really felt lucky to have picked this place over anything else!

Room Tip: Deluxe room was ideal for a family with a baby cot - in fact, it was awesome for anyone with lots of...

Myself and my husband went to Istanbul last week 23/03 2012. We had a very friendly welcome from the staff at the Best Point Hotel after a long tiring trip. The entire time we were in Istanbul the staff at the hotel were very helpful and could'nt do enough for us. Our room was clean and comfortable and the cleaning service was very good every day. We had clean towels and clean bed sheets. The mini bar was well stocked and we can recommened the wine which was not a bad price either. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of foods and drinks daily. Again very helpful staff when you wanted something specific, for example english breakfast tea or lighting the roof top terrace when it was closed for winter so we could sit there and enjoy the wine and views. We would recommend the restaurant Amedros in Sultanhamet delicious food especially the sultans dish prepared in a clay pot with lamb. Had a fab time and would go back to this cosy home from home hotel. The only two things my husband would like me to comment on is the fact that our room was a little small but fine for a couple and other guests could be noisy at night going in and out of there rooms. The hotel could do with having better, more substantial doors. xxx

We arrived at the hotel in the middle of the night and was very well received by a service-minded staff. The rooms were clean and delicate. The bathroom contained the amenities you want. Breakfast is tasty and the staff accommodating and service minded. The location is right in the center of old town. No noise at night. What more could you want? Recommend it to those who think a trip to Istanbul! Nina from Norway
